After spring break, a couple of guys who were helping out got their pink slips because they weren’t performing the way I needed them to to maintain my reputation so I thinned the herd. One of the guys that helps out and who’s awesome, Trent, is sort of going out on his own, which I’ve actually been helping him do. I want everybody to feel like they can achieve something and be independent and that’s why I pay these guys an owner’s wage when we work together. Now it’s back to the old days, just me and Jonathan. I’m no longer managing jobs… I’m 100% laboring jobs and I have to say it feels good. There’s no bu****it. My Achilles heel is that I can’t take on as much work and a lot of people are on the schedule are asking when jobs will start… the jobs will start soon. This is just some blunt Reality. In 2026 if you want something done correctly in your home, you will have to wait. In fact if you live in Louisville Kentucky, you might be lucky to get good work at all. And if you can find good work, you will pay a premium for it. I’m not going to raise my rates. I haven’t raised my rates in almost 10 years. I still don’t mark up materials. In fact I get discounts all the time. This is just a reminder, I haven’t forgot you…hang tight. Here to photographs one from Jonathan‘s job and one from my current job. Two jobs, two guys.

I’m not fully prepped yet either. I just do this for effect. People worry about zero entry showers and will they work? Are the waterproof? Yeah, yeah they are and yes they work. Are they more expensive? Depends on your attitude, trust and if you want to listen to Google or a guy who’s been remodeling for three decades. Full waterproof wet room!!!

This is Bob’s shower. Bob has some mobility issues. I recently had a customer who questioned my ability to make a functioning barrier free shower room.. well here you go. Unlike a lot of people, Bob took a chance and he listened to me. Now he has an amazing space that is completely safe, makes use of every inch of the room and fit the style of his mid-century modern ranch home. He allowed me to Design and pick out every single aspect of this job. I’ve never had anybody do that before. Bob purchased all of his tile at the Louisville tile by annual sale. Everything you see here cost $250. Again, Bob listened to me.. Bob is 6 foot five. Everything in this bathroom has been custom adjusted to his height.
