Quick little bathroom and basement bedroom job we wrapped up last week in St. Matthews. These homeowners has experienced some moisture issues in the past which led to some staining and bubbling on the ceiling. This required us to do some sanding and stain blocking prior to the paint application in which we used an anti mold and mildew semi gloss paint that will help repel moisture and prevent future staining. They also have had their exhaust/ventilation fan replaced since then. They also decided while they were at it they might as well paint the walls. This one is called Paper White. Cue ‘The Office’ theme song. The spare bedroom in the basement was done in Monorail Silver which was just a couple shades darker than the previous color. We sure have had quite a few homeowners with deadlines lately. From new flooring being installed to renovations and move in dates. We have been absolutely busy with Spring knocking on the door. Out with the old and in with the new! This one located in J-Town over in Louisville required quite a bit of love. The ceilings were stained from years of ni****ne from previous owners who were indoor smokers. The difference had even us speechless. The walls ended up requiring 3 coats as well to completely cover the old colors. A fresh coat on the trim and doors as well as some patchwork and stain blocking to go along with the new carpet has this home feeling like a brand new one. The new color is called Crisp Linen. Doing some Spring cleaning or getting other work done and want to freshen things up on the walls, ceilings, doors, or trim? Give us a call! Pine Valley Estates
It always means a lot more to us when we get a repeat customer. It says that they not only think we do good work but also that they trust us with their home and won’t go shopping around for anyone else. We also like to think that they enjoy our company but that can be up for debate. 😂
This is now probably the 4th or 5th time we’ve been back to do work for these homeowners. And not only have we done work for them but have previously done a couple projects for a neighbor and are currently doing work for ANOTHER neighbor in the same cul-de-sac! If you take care of your customers they will return the favor by showing off your work and refer you to everyone they know! This project was more of a repair on someone else’s work. After a previous leak and some drywall repair, you could tell they didn’t quite match it with the rest of the ceilings. There was also some patching that needed done from a plumber who had to fix a leak. You can’t even tell there was a big gaping hole there anymore! Also pictured are a couple of wall repairs from old patchwork that needed sanded down smooth and redone along with a big dent. Forgot to get the after pics of those 2 but you get the idea. Phase 2 of this full interior located in Jeff is in the books! After already completing this homeowner’s master bedroom, bathroom, and closet in Fashionable Gray, they decided they weren’t a fan of the violet undertones and switched to another gray called Tinsmith. They are much happier with the new choice! This one included not just walls but ceilings, trim, and doors as well. And we definitely have to give it up for Right by Koch Renovations for coming out and tackling a few other projects that they needed done. Installing a couple shower door kits, replacing the utility doors in the hallway, and fixing some ceiling texture/patchwork that the builders did a terrible job on. We managed to get this home in J-Town wrapped up just as the snow storm was really moving in last week. These homeowners said goodbye to the yellow and went with Natural Linen. A soft, warm neutral color that sits between beige and cream. It brought this home into the present and made it feel more modern. We also helped them get rid of ,what we called, a foyer only a Kentucky Derby Jocky could love! It took some sanding to help eliminate the outlines but luckily the new color covered just fine! Also given new life were the ceilings. A fresh coat of ceiling white really does brighten a place up. Contact us today to schedule a free estimate! It’s amazing how a color can transform a space by just going a couple shades lighter on the walls and applying a fresh coat on the ceilings! People don’t realize this but a lot of times ceilings aren’t even painted in newer builds or if their home is older they don’t realize how far from white their ceilings actually are after years of fading, heat rising, and overall staining from any sort of fumes and chemicals in the air. Even though we dropped the brush on getting decent before photos, you can really tell the difference on the walls between the boring ol’ tan and the much calmer and creamier beige known as Patience. We also helped give their front and garage access doors new life by sanding and applying a couple coats of new paint to them. Contact us today to schedule a free estimate! Another new build with that terrible builder’s grade paint transformed into an actual home! This combination of Tantalizing Teal in the basement and stairwell leading up to the main level where we applied our most popular color Agreeable Gray topping it off with accenting the board and batten wall in the dining area with Peacock Blue left us in awe! 😮 So many people go with a neutral color throughout the entire house that it’s become a breath of fresh air when someone actually takes a chance on a unique color or 2. We can’t thank these homeowners enough for their patience despite a few delays and setbacks. But being as they’re both local business owners themselves, they completely understood. A little late on posting this but we managed to wrap this one up just before Christmas! Another beautiful home located in the Crystal Springs neighborhood of Jeffersonville, the previous homeowners had some questionable tastes with their choice of primary colors that in our opinion just did not belong together. The more recent homeowners decided it was time to brighten things up with this “cool lime” color, as they described it, called Contented. It completely changed the interior making it feel more open and less dull and depressing. They were so excited to host for the holidays and show off what felt like a new home again. This newer home located just past Lake Forest in Louisville had not yet been painted properly. When new homes go up, they almost always use a very cheap “builder’s grade” paint. It saves them money and because it’s a flat, off white paint, it tends to hide any of their mistakes or imperfections on the drywall. These homeowners chose to stick with an off white but one that is a LOT more appealing to the eye! We present Snowbound in a satin sheen)… a color perfect for the season and the current weather we’ve been having. This lustrous white with slight gray undertones creates a more serene look and feeling that you will love! It’s not often that a homeowner will listen to our suggestions but when we mentioned doing another color as an accent they were fully on board! It seems to be a common practice for people to paint their entire interior the same neutral color. The thought process is that it will help with reselling the home when it comes time. The problem is there are no plans to sell the home anytime in the near future. So why not make it your own? Another reason people choose the same color is an attempt to hide things like these support beams and posts. This doesn’t work as well as you think so we say lean into it and show them off more! Make it a focal point or center piece in your home! A conversation piece if you will. This sophisticated taupe is called Dovetail and it not only breaks up the continuity of Snowbound but paired well with it while also accentuating this space. Hence the term “accent” wall(s).
