Studio Kremer Architects A Louisville architecture firm with an interest in exploring new design challenges and a commitment to being a community design resource and advocate.

Studio Kremer Architects Inc is a Louisville-based architecture firm with a diverse portfolio of work; a commitment to be both a community resource and advocate; and an interest in exploring new directions and challenges. The firm (formerly CC Brumley Architects) changed management in 1997 and became a partnership in 2009, but builds on a legacy of forty years of continuous operation to support our evolution and recent growth. We pursue any kind of project, treating each as an opportunity to learn, grow, and keep our practice vital. While we jokingly claim, 'Our niche is no niche,' the sentiment has served us well and the variety of the work keeps us energized. Studio Kremer's mission is to provide comprehensive leadership throughout the design and construction process, ensuring that the final built project exceeds our client’s and stakeholders' expectations, within our client’s time frame and budget.

We love that the Iroquois Neighborhood Association is tracking progress at DeSales High School's Hyland Family Innovation Center!

And, yes, even the steel frame structure of the front wall is exciting to see. Buildings under construction are fascinating for just this reason: cool, necessary, and interesting elements of the building get covered up!

Brad Cloepfil is the founder and creative leader of Allied Works. His body of work is informed by his native Oregon landscapes, a deep sense of place, and love of craft, making, and tectonics. Brad’s architecture pairs an intense focus on the specific character of each project with an understanding of the transformative possibilities of space, light, form and material. His firm has received numerous design awards, and he is a National Academy of Design Academician and a 2018 American Academy of Arts and Letters Award winner.

Nelson County Schools' UP Center Grand Opening was yesterday, and the students and instructors took it as an opportunity to show off to the community the extent to which each space was specifically designed as a tool to serve the unique approaches to teaching and learning the UP Center is pursuing.

Congratulations!

Last week, AIA Kentucky awarded the Eminence Gym a 2026 AIA Kentucky Citation and the 2026 AIA People’s Choice Award.

For the Citation, see a snapshot of the jury’s comments in this post. Among them: “The designers’ use of modest materials, simple forms, and well-arranged spaces permits an inwardly focused athletics program to also embrace the street with a welcoming experience.”

The People’s Choice Award was even better: It was selected through a public poll (that’s you!) over all other 2026 award submissions!

Project leaders Anna Finneran and Sarah Dalga accepted the awards for Studio Kremer. We were joined at the event by representatives of the whole project team: Eminence Independent Schools, KPFF, CARMAN, Kerr-Greulich Engineers, and General Contractor FW Owens.

We are grateful to everyone who contributed to the vision for and ex*****on of this project, and proud to see the Eminence Gymnasium recognized for its architectural and community impact.
