🌧️ Where does all that rainwater go when your home doesn’t have gutters?
These photos are from a real home our team recently visited—and the erosion tells the story.
When rain runs off your roof without a gutter system to collect and redirect it, that water repeatedly hits the ground around your home. Over time, uncontrolled roof runoff can contribute to soil erosion, foundation washout, pooling water and excess moisture around your home.

Gutters aren’t just for looks. They’re an important part of your home’s water-management system—collecting the water coming off your roof and directing it away from the areas you want to protect.
Here’s something you can do yourself:
🌧️ After the next heavy rain, take a walk around your house.
Look for:
• Soil washing away beneath the roofline
• Trenches or channels forming near the home
• Water pooling around the foundation
• Mulch or landscaping repeatedly washing away
• Mud splashing onto siding
• Gutters overflowing or downspouts draining too close to the house
See something that doesn’t look right? Or don’t have gutters at all?
Give Heritage Roofing & Gutters a call. We’d be happy to take a look.
