There’s nothing better than hearing a client say their home turned out even better than they imagined.

Shmuli and Rebecca had lived in their Pico-Robertson home for years, but as their family grew, the original single-story house simply wasn’t big enough. Rather than lose their backyard by extending out, they decided to build up and add a second story, creating the space they needed while preserving the outdoor area they loved.

For them, choosing the right builder came down to trust, communication, transparency, and making sure the project stayed on schedule and within budget. We worked closely with their designer, architect, and engineer throughout the build, handled the city, permitting, and inspections, and made sure any changes or additional costs were discussed clearly before moving forward.

They had signed a one-year lease while the work was being completed, so timing mattered. We were able to finish the project in around 10 months, ahead of their deadline, and two years later they’re still enjoying the home with their family.

As Rebecca put it, what looked good on paper turned out even better in reality. High-quality workmanship, thoughtful design, plenty of space for a growing family, and a home they now see as their forever home.

Open-concept living looks simple when it’s finished, but creating those big open spaces takes some serious structural planning.

We’re here next to Beverlywood, where a crane is lifting massive steel beams into place for this brand-new home. These beams will support the structure above while allowing the kitchen and living areas to remain one large, open space without unnecessary walls breaking everything up.

It’s a great example of how the design people want to live in has to be supported by the right construction behind the scenes. Big spaces need big support, and getting that structure right is what makes the finished home feel open, spacious, and effortless.

🍾 An *amazing* moment 🥂 as our client’s new house is completed in Altadena! Our Chief Operating Officer, Oren Leshem, handed over the keys today.

This is the moment every rebuild works towards.

We’re here with Susie, and today the inspector gave the official sign-off for her family to move back into their home.

We received permits in late September, broke ground in October, and worked through every stage of the build, and the keys are finally being handed over.

There’s something incredibly special about seeing a family return home after everything they’ve been through with the awful Altadena fire.

This project came together through a lot of hard work, careful coordination, and a team of subcontractors who kept going through long days and 100-degree heat to make it happen.

We’re grateful to Susie and her family for trusting us with their home, and proud to have helped bring them back to Altadena.

Is a swimming pool just a big hole in the ground filled with water? Not quite.

We’re back at this completed home in Altadena, where the next stage is finishing the pool. There’s a lot happening beneath the surface, from the steel reinforcement and pipework to the systems that will keep everything running properly.

The raised section will become a whirlpool bath and Baja shelf, with water flowing down into the main pool. Once all the steel, plumbing, and other systems are in place, the next step is to apply the shotcrete before moving on to the final pool finishes.

A lot of planning and construction goes into creating a pool that looks simple and beautiful when it’s finished. Before long this outdoor space will be ready to complement this wonderful home.

We love building homes.

We’re here pouring the foundation for this new property in Los Angeles, and this is one of the biggest milestones in the entire build.

As you can see, we’re pouring both the perimeter foundation and the slab for what will be a slab-on-grade home.

A slab on grade is a type of foundation where a concrete slab is poured directly at ground level, rather than over a crawl space or basement. It forms the base that the home is built on, and before the concrete is poured, the plumbing, drainage, and other key systems are carefully laid out underneath. It’s a popular construction method because it can be faster, more efficient, and more cost-effective, while still providing a strong, durable foundation for the home.

For a house of this size, there is a lot going on at once, with multiple concrete trucks, a full crew on site, and supervisors making sure everything moves the right way from start to finish.

Once the concrete is poured, the next step is to let it cure properly before we start building up. It’s always exciting to reach this point, because after all the preparation below ground, the house is now ready to begin taking shape above it.

We’re out at the Wooster build, and right now it’s all happening underground.

Those pipes coming up through the slab; that’s drain lines, water, electricity, everything the house will eventually run on. Before a single wall goes up, all of it has to be in exactly the right place. It’s painstaking work, but a slab-on-grade foundation like this one can actually speed up the build and keep costs down.

Every decision made at this stage gets locked in once the concrete is poured. That’s why we take the planning seriously — because the family moving into this home is counting on us to get it right before they ever see a single wall go up.

Not the most glamorous phase. But get this part right, and everything else follows. The Wooster project is off to a strong start, and we can’t wait to show you what comes next.

We’re back at Genesee, where what was once a set of broken, burnt garages has now become a beautiful two-story development bringing more housing to Los Angeles.

At this stage of the project, a lot of the work is in the details. We regularly walk the site with Stacey our interior designer to make sure everything is exactly where it needs to be, and to talk through important elements like electrical, plumbing, layout, and finishes before the walls get closed up. These meetings help keep everyone on the same page and make sure things are done right the first time.

Good construction is always a team effort, and projects like this come together best through coordination, communication, and careful planning at every stage.

An info post! What are foundation pads, and why do they matter?

It’s not the flashiest stage of construction, but it’s one of the most important. Before you see walls, windows, and rooflines, the real groundwork is making sure the structure has the right support underneath it.

1️⃣ First, the ground is prepared
• Soil is excavated and removed from the site.
• The lot is leveled to the correct grade.
• Surveyed building corners are used so everything is placed exactly where it should go.

2️⃣ Then come the footings and pads
• Footings are the concrete base that supports the walls of the house.
• Pads are thicker sections of concrete placed under major structural load points, like columns or heavily supported areas.

3️⃣What do the pads actually do?
• They help carry the weight of the house safely into the ground.
• They spread heavy loads over a wider area.
• They give key parts of the structure the support they need before the rest of the foundation is built.

4️⃣ Why this stage matters
• A strong home starts below ground.
• For a two-story home especially, this stage is critical because the loads are greater and the foundation needs to be exact.

5️⃣ Where we are in the process now
• Excavation is underway.
• Soil is being taken off-site.
• The ground has been leveled.
• Building corners are set.
• Next comes the foundation work that this new home will rise from.

We’ve transformed what was once a set of burnt-down garages into a brand-new four-unit development in the heart of Hollywood. It’s great to be working with !

This project includes 2 x 1-bedroom units downstairs and 2 x 2-bedroom units upstairs, creating much-needed housing in a beautiful Los Angeles neighborhood.

The internal design is all about openness, light, and livability, with a large open-plan kitchen and living space, plenty of windows, a sunroof, in-unit washer and dryer, and a spacious primary suite with a walk-in closet.

This is a great example of how thoughtful design and smart construction can turn an underused space into something modern, practical, and beautiful.

We love it!
