A couple of shots from one of our recently completed remodels. One unique challenge for this area of the project: the entire landscape sits above a subterranean golf simulator, so weight restrictions and limited root depth had to be carefully considered. The solution led to these stone pots for the olive trees, which ended up becoming one of our favorite design features.

The best details are planned long before they’re seen. Recessed wall and step lighting like this only happens when design stays ahead of construction. A simple palette of stone, steel, and light doing all the work.

We imported this antique, limestone wellhead from France for our dining garden and tucked it in with Boxwoods and Lemon trees. The small bubbler running through the water lettuce has a subtle sound that’s perfect with the ocean view.

Fun to look back and see how much this living arbor has filled in over the last 4+ years. These white mulberry (Morus alba) trees started as flexible young saplings and have slowly been trained into a woven canopy.
So many of the most rewarding elements in a garden can’t be rushed. Time, patience, and a little faith in the process make all the difference.🌿🌳

If you know stone, you know Dalle de Bourgogne. Timeless French limestone that continues to define exceptional landscapes.

I’ve had the pleasure of importing in for a number of projects in California. I love it so much I had to go see it in its natural habitat. Here are some photos of installs I visited in Beaune, France. I beautiful town in the middle of the Bourgogne w**e region.

Which format is your favorite? Large pavers, baton skinny cobbles or pave de rue?
