Marco DiMaccio is an acclaimed designer who brings a playful and green approach to the world of design. With a background in architecture, product design, and film work, DiMaccio developed PUNCHouse ecodesign group - a company dedicated to creating ecologically sustainable architecture and products. DiMaccio does not believe that “eco” needs to translate into rustic, banal, run-of-the-mill design.
On the contrary, he feels that ecodesign should be colorful, daring and bold, like nature itself. “The concept of beauty and the use of bold color and angles should not be lost in the architecture,” says DiMaccio, “but rather, should be carried through from the structure itself to the external world in which it lives.” DiMaccio believes that there should be a symbiotic relationship between the aesthetic quality of the architecture and the natural beauty of its surrounding environment. He states “the structure and the environment become harmonious with one another - not only are we creating a beautiful living structure, but the structure itself exists to protect the natural beauty around it.”
DiMaccio received his formal education from Rhode Island School of Design and Art Center College of Design. His accomplishments span an impressive range, all of which have inspired and informed his highly honed eye for all aspects of design. Known for his rich modernist style, DiMaccio’s designs are a beautiful balance of playful modernism and creative efficiency. Projects include Lakeshore Entertainment’s film production offices, the Beastie Boys’ commercial production space - Grand Royal Records, and numerous production companies and private residences. His work as a Production Designer has also garnered high praise including Clio and ADDY awards. He has collaborated with leading commercial and Academy Award winning film directors, has designed over 500 commercials, including Lexus, Mercedes, Sharp, Yahoo, several other Fortune 500 companies and numerous Super Bowl ad campaigns. He has designed music videos for Rihanna, Elton John, Ozzy Osborn, Andrea Bocelli, Jennifer Lopez, and emerging artists from P. Diddy’s Bad Boy Records.
