One of our followers just sent us this video from Nassau County, New York. We don’t have much context about what happened leading up to this interaction, but we are working to find out more information. In the video, the man recording appears to have his phone concealed as he asks an officer if he killed his uncle. The officer can then be heard responding, “Yeah, I did.” It’s a disturbing exchange, and we need more information about what led to this interaction and what the officer meant by that response. We will share more details as we learn them.

CHARGES DROPPED AGAINST MAN SEEN BEING PUNCHED BY SANTA ANA POLICE

The Orange County District Attorney’s Office has dropped the criminal charges against 28 year old Florentino Lopez following a controversial arrest by Santa Ana police that was captured on video and sparked public outrage. The October 1 incident shows officers taking Lopez to the ground and repeatedly punching him while a family member records the encounter. Lopez had been facing felony resisting arrest and other charges stemming from the incident. His attorney argued that the video showed an unnecessary and excessive use of force. On October 13, a judge granted prosecutors’ request to dismiss the charges connected to the arrest. However, the case is not entirely over, as prosecutors are still pursuing an alleged probation violation, with a hearing scheduled for December 3. The Santa Ana City Council has also ordered an independent investigation into the officers’ actions. The dismissal raises serious questions about the arrest and the circumstances surrounding the use of force. When an encounter with police is caught on camera, the public deserves answers, transparency, and accountability.

This video was sent to us by one of our followers and takes place in Oak Brook, Illinois. A man and woman are pulled over, and Officer Gadjanski repeatedly places his arm on the side mirror of their vehicle, even after being asked multiple times to stop. It may seem like a small thing, but these are the kinds of interactions that can quickly escalate tensions during a traffic stop. When someone repeatedly asks an officer to stop doing something that appears unnecessary, why continue doing it? Police officers have authority, but that doesn’t mean every interaction needs to become a power struggle. Respect and professionalism should go both ways, and the way an officer handles even the smallest interaction can make a big difference in how the public views law enforcement. New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani is ordering the NYPD to review its use of force policies for the first time in a decade while introducing new measures aimed at preventing officers accused of serious misconduct from escaping accountability. The announcement follows the 2024 fatal shooting of 19 year old Win Rozario, who was experiencing a mental health crisis when police responded to his family’s home in Queens. Two officers faced disciplinary charges connected to the shooting, but one of them, Salvatore Alongi, retired before a disciplinary trial could take place. The case has raised serious questions about how officers can leave the department while facing allegations of misconduct and whether the disciplinary system is doing enough to hold them accountable. Mamdani’s reforms include adding $2.6 million to the NYPD’s independent oversight office, establishing a notification system to help ensure disciplinary proceedings move forward when officers seek retirement, and reporting officers with pending disciplinary charges to state authorities to help prevent them from avoiding scrutiny by joining another law enforcement agency in New York. The city also plans to improve transparency by standardizing how information about critical incidents is shared with the public and the families of people killed or seriously injured during police encounters. Mamdani says the goal is to ensure force is used lawfully, carefully and only when necessary, but police union leaders have criticized the initiative, arguing that it is politically motivated and will not improve public safety. The bigger question is whether these changes will lead to meaningful accountability when officers use deadly force, or whether families will continue fighting for answers after their loved ones are gone.

Disturbing video out of Harrison, New Jersey, shows children screaming and desperately clinging to a handcuffed man as masked ICE agents drag him away. The footage, recorded by bystanders on October 7, shows a woman holding a baby pleading with agents as the children try to keep their family member from being taken. An officer also appears to throw a teenage bystander to the ground during the confrontation. Local officials described the scene as heartbreaking and raised concerns about the emotional impact on the children. The man was later identified as Jhon Maykel Correa-Sangucho, and the Department of Homeland Security said he failed to follow repeated instructions to exit the vehicle. But regardless of the circumstances surrounding the arrest, the footage raises serious questions about how this operation was handled. Immigration laws can be enforced, but that does not mean the treatment of families and bystanders should be ignored. Children should not have to watch a terrifying scene unfold as they desperately cling to a loved one, unsure of what is happening or what will happen next. The public deserves a transparent explanation of what led to this confrontation, why force was used against a teenage bystander, and what happened to the family afterward. Enforcing the law does not eliminate the responsibility to treat people humanely, especially when children are caught in the middle.

This is how trials are won! The defense wouldn’t put on the chicken suit, so Nicholas Rowley Nick Rowley did, right in the middle of his closing.
His client, Mitch Carter, was a high school kid who got talked into wearing that suit to mock a rival school’s mascot at a pep rally. Students jumped him and he ended up with a traumatic brain injury.
Rowley put it all on, head, beak, feet, and showed the jury what it was like to be stuck in that thing in front of a crowd. The defense objected. The judge allowed it.
The jury found the school district at fault, and the case settled for around $10 million. The offer before Rowley took the case was $50K.

A man in Oregon noticed multiple ICE agents gathered at a gas station and decided to pull out his camera and record what was happening. What started as someone simply documenting federal agents in public quickly escalated, as the ICE agents appeared to become aggressive toward the man filming them. Recording law enforcement in public is an important way to hold those in power accountable, and encounters like this raise serious questions about transparency and how federal agents respond when members of the public exercise their right to document them.

I got a text this morning that Melody a Veteran who is a paraplegic senior citizen needed blankets because after being evicted from her apartment run by Century Housing at the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System West Los Angeles VA, Soldier’s Home, she is now sleeping outside the VA Medical Center in her chair on her own federal deed restricted Soldiers’ Home. It’s sad that Los Angeles is the nations capital of Veteran homelessness and su***de, but it’s infururiating that per an act of Congress, homeless and disabled Veterans are stakeholders of the permanent Soldiers’ Home that is funded over $1.3 billion annually to house, serve, and heal them. But because entities like Brentwood School, UCLA, Century Housing, Step Up, Salvation Army and other third-party and nonprofits that siphon the land and steal our tax dollars the result is more Veteran death and su***de. We can end Veteran homelessness in Los Angeles without costing city, county, state tax payers one dollar. When we stop the corruption at the West Los Angeles VA, Soldiers’ Home we end veteran homelessness in Los Angeles.
National Home for Disabled Volunteer soldiers established in 1888 per an act of Soldiers because after the civil war, having disabled veterans be homeless was a national security issue. If enough people were aware and put pressure on politicians to talk about this necessary issue, they would act accordingly.
