Last week we did an office field trip to check out progress on five of the houses we have underway in the Palisades. Great to spend a day in the gorgeous sunshine, and inspiring to see all the forward momentum on these projects and others in the area.

Photo 3 shows two of our projects which happen to be next door to each other. This was a coincidence, but has been great for planning and construction. Also, two amazing families, so lucked out on the whole thing and hoping to get invited to the block party one day.

Going to be using Photo 1 for the LSA record album cover (after we make a record).

We are extremely proud of our ongoing work with the Los Angeles Community College District. LACCD is the largest community college district in California, with about 194,000 students on nine campuses. More than half of all LACCD students report their incomes at near or below the poverty line, and research shows that an education at LACCD's colleges is an important source of economic stability and upward mobility for some of the neediest residents of Los Angeles County.

Project pictured is a renovation of the Arts Lecture Hall at Pierce College. The design gives new life to the existing building and provides a colorful anchor to the Arts program.

5 0 0 D A Y S 🌼 Today marks 500 days since the Palisades Fire. A crazy number, as it feels both like this just happened and also like we have been dealing with the aftermath for a really really long time.

Some good news, however… recovery is well underway. We are proud to have four houses in construction and rising up out of the ground.

Maybe not as poetic as flowers blooming after the storm, but this sure looks pretty to us. 🌼
