We are a Silver Lake based design team. In the past 10 years we've renovated, restored and remodeled over 50 homes in the Los Feliz-Silver Lake area.

We offer a wide range of services from color consultation and decorating to full bathroom, kitchen and home remodels, including second story additions and new construction. We are a fully integrated, full service company, employing our own architects, engineers, as well as furniture and cabinet-makers. Our work has appeared on National TV and on cover stories in LA Times Home Section, and has been included on the prestigious Silver Lake Modernism Tour in 2006. But we are first and foremost local designers who favor our neighbors and friends. Our environmental mission is to offer the most sophisticated design we can provide to our local community, employing local artists and artisans, and at least 50% recycled materials on every job we do.

There are lots of hillside staircases in Los Angeles :: the cheerier the walk to the entry, the better! 🪻

Bathroom storage is necessary in whatever way possible. But ... the cuter, the better - in our humble opinion 😉

A look back at storage past : benches are always a plus, a vintage rounded corner, drawer-maxing, a cleaned line MCM, innovation when you NEED a gorg pedestal sink and a huge jewelry storage win.

One of our greatest joys of kitchen design is having fun with the details of the cabinetry.

A double sided pantry pullout, sliding door finger pull to access the snacks, maximizing “dead” corner space, hiding the paper towels — an APPLIANCE GARAGE at chic level 10?!

Hoping to try the baseboard step stool soon! Any life changing cabinetry design ideas you’ve implemented & the world should know — drop them here ⬇️

✦ MOST PEOPLE UNDERESTIMATE THE POWER OF TILE ✦

The difference between a beautiful bathroom and an unforgettable one often comes down to a single design decision.

Tile.

In this space, designer Karen Vidal used bold geometric cement tile to create rhythm, movement, and contrast throughout the room. The graphic black-and-white pattern anchors the design while the warm wood vanity softens the space, creating the perfect balance between modern sophistication and organic warmth.

Notice how the patterned tile flows seamlessly from the main floor into the shower, visually expanding the room and creating a sense of continuity from wall to wall.

Paired with classic subway tile, matte black accents, and natural wood tones, the result is timeless, striking, and effortlessly California modern.

The best tile doesn’t simply finish a room.

It becomes the focal point.

It creates the mood.

It tells the story.

This is what happens when function becomes art.

Because the best design doesn’t shout.

It quietly commands attention.

✦ THE MOST POWERFUL DESIGN ELEMENT IN A ROOM ISN’T ALWAYS THE FURNITURE SOMETIMES IT’S THE TILE. ✦

A truly great tile doesn’t just cover a surface.

It creates movement.
It tells a story.
It transforms an ordinary space into something unforgettable.

In this bathroom, designer Karen Vidal used handcrafted cement tiles to create a sense of whimsy, artistry, and timeless California charm. The delicate bird motif brings life and movement to the room, while the soft palette keeps the space feeling light, airy, and serene.

Notice how the pattern flows seamlessly from the vanity wall to the shower surround and built-in niche, creating a visual rhythm that makes the entire room feel intentional and cohesive.

This is the power of thoughtful design.

A bathroom should feel more than functional.
It should feel like a retreat.
A moment of beauty.
A space that inspires you every single day.

Designer Karen Vidal has long embraced the idea that great interiors are built through layers of craftsmanship, texture, and unexpected details that tell a story.

Because luxury isn’t about excess.

It’s about creating spaces that are impossible to forget.

✦ GREAT DESIGN DOESN’T JUST CHANGE A ROOM, IT CHANGES THE WAY YOU EXPERIENCE YOUR ENTIRE LIFE ✦

Design is never just about furniture.
It’s about energy. Rhythm. Identity. The way a home can completely transform how you feel the moment you walk through the door.

This living room transformation by designer Karen Vidal reimagines the space through warmth, balance, texture, and intentional color transforming it into a bright, curated California-modern environment designed for creativity, gathering, and everyday inspiration.

From the sculptural seating and layered textures to the natural light, organic elements, and elevated styling, every detail was intentionally chosen to create a feeling:
calm, creativity, conversation, and home.

The most powerful interiors don’t just look beautiful.

They completely shift the energy of how a space is experienced. ♾️
