At the Ramos Residence, the open floor plan was designed around the family’s love of entertaining. Large pocketing sliding doors dissolve the boundaries between indoors and out, allowing gatherings to flow naturally from one space to the next.
But how do you create a sense of intimacy and definition within an open floor plan?
Through thoughtful architectural and interior elements, we created distinct spaces without sacrificing openness and sightlines through the home. A built-in bookshelf subtly separates the kitchen and living room, while a stone-clad fireplace and media wall anchor the main gathering space.
These features also bring together the home’s material palette. Natural split-face stone, warm walnut millwork, and stone countertops with textured movement.
