Bookmatched Volakas marble slabs at shower walls, ceiling and floors in a Beverly Hills bathroom.

One block of Volakas. Every surface in the room cut from it.

We sequenced the slabs so the veining opens symmetrically across the shower walls, then carried the same block through the shower ceiling, the shower curb, and the bathroom floor. Every seam was planned at slab layout before the first cut.

Bookmatching at this level comes down to control of the process. We review the bundle in person, dry lay the slabs in our Los Angeles shop, and cut and miter to hold tight joints. The shower ceiling and the curb are the hardest details in the room. Both sit where the eye lands first, and both demand exact alignment across three planes.

The vanity wall is a custom tile program in rectangular formats of varying dimensions, set in a staggered layout. It adds texture without competing with the marble. An Italian floating vanity keeps the floor plane open so the stone runs uninterrupted beneath it.

Phase 01 of 05 : Concept and Consultation

Most stone programs fail before anyone turns on a saw.

They fail in material selection, when a slab gets chosen for
how it photographs instead of how it performs. Absorption
rating, directional movement, structural fissures, finish
suitability. Every one of those changes the outcome, and
every one is invisible in a photo.

Phase 01 at CAD Stone Works is where we surface them.

We review the architectural plans and design intent, then
inspect and evaluate slabs at premium Los Angeles
distributors alongside your architect, builder, or interior
designer. If a specified marble is wrong for a high-traffic
island, we say so before procurement, not after fabrication.

That conversation costs an afternoon. The alternative costs a
replacement slab that may no longer exist.

Five phases. This is where the discipline starts.

A newly launched material. A fluted vessel cut on a five axis CNC.
Cosentino introduced Éclos this year, a new category they call the Inlayered Mineral Surface. Unlike printed surfaces, the veining runs through the entire body of the slab. Which means you can carve into it and the pattern keeps going.
That is exactly what we did. For this main powder room, CAD Stone Works fabricated a vessel countertop with an integrated sink and clad the vanity wall floor to ceiling in Éclos Legnd. The vessel face carries a fluted profile produced on our five axis CNC machine. Every flute cuts into the slab, and the veining reads straight through each one.
Backlit full height panels. An integrated sink with a mitered rim. A material that reached the market this same season.
This is what architectural stone fabrication looks like when the material and the machinery are both built for it.
Designers and builders: when a spec calls for something that has never been fabricated before, that conversation starts at [email protected].

Mosaic tile across a curved wall that never breaks stride.

At the Piedra Morada Residence in Pacific Palisades, the stair volume rises through the full height of the home and folds into the ceiling as one continuous surface. Our team set every small format piece by hand across that compound curve, holding coursing, joint alignment, and plane through every change in geometry. No trim lines, no transitions, no interruptions.

Built by Breakform Design. Stone and tile installation by CAD Stone Works.

Architectural stone fabrication and installation for elite residential estates across Pacific Palisades, Beverly Hills, Bel Air, and greater Los Angeles.
