The owners of J&A Elite were truly honored to recently speak with the talented students in the Monroe Career and Technical Institute (MCTI) Horticulture Program — the future of our industry.

This opportunity was especially meaningful to us, as Josh Salls is a proud MCTI graduate and Angalina Salls is a PME graduate. Being back in the classroom and sharing our story felt like coming full circle.

We had the chance to talk about our 10-year journey — from starting with just one truck and one plow, with Angie out shoveling snow by hand, to building the fleet we proudly operate with our team today. We shared not only the successes, but also the real ups and downs of business ownership and the dedication it takes to keep pushing forward.

What inspired us most was hearing the students share their own goals, ambitions, and dreams for the future. Their passion and work ethic already show they have what it takes to succeed, and we know they’re going to do amazing things in this industry.

A special thank you to Lindsay Mason, Lori Bruce, and the incredible staff at MCTI for inviting us to speak with the class. We appreciate the opportunity and look forward to seeing these students succeed and grow in the years ahead.

Yesterday wasn’t just a win because we got the job done — it was a win because our team moved as one. I’m incredibly proud of our executive crew who led the charge during our first big snow event of the season.
