This is why you always have to double check everything. American standard toilet, that somehow got sold without any quality control checks.

I’ll never understand why tub guys make things harder on themselves…
This tub had more dust in the coating than a non slip additive on the floor! Plus, they went thru about 2 tubes of caulking to fill the giant gap at the wall that was already moldy before they got started.
Everything in here is a bit suspect, because the tile guy used flashing tape as waterproofing behind the tub too!

I’m telling ya, it’s not hard to do things properly, especially when you’re already there. You’re using quality materials & can obviously spray pretty well too… why do a half ass job? I’ll never get it. There’s almost always a reason, & sometimes that reason is it’s 4:30 on Friday & there’s an empty barstool somewhere. Owell, this one is looking new again, & I replaced the drain kit so their kid can take a bath without using a rubber drain plug too.

Master bath & closet transformation.
They wanted to get rid of the old tile shower & get more of a spa type of feel in their space. The shower door will be in next week, but the tile work went smoothly.
As far as large format tiles go, this is probably my favorite of all of them I’ve done. Simple subtle & elegant design with neutral colors.
It certainly would be nicer if there was some natural light, and maybe an upgrade of the closet system at some point, but it’s a major improvement!

Another bats**t crazy customer that I refused to work for today, and I’m seriously considering quitting all together. These people are absolutely ridiculous lately…

I had a gal call me about a bathroom remodel last week. I went to look at it, but before I walked in, she wanted me to look at her side gate that was falling down due to termite damage and the rotten old fence it was attached to.

I told her it’s an easy repair, but it’s not gonna fix the problem, only buy her some time. $50, easy stuff, for when I have time at the end of a day. Told her to call me when she gets back in town & I can see what works.

So today, she asks what time I will be there tomorrow (because I said Wednesday might work) I said I’ve got a full day, & I can get to it Thursday afternoon.

“Wasn’t I on your schedule?? You told me Wednesday!!”
Now that’s a big ole red flag…

wtf you crazy woman?! I said specifically, let’s touch base when you get back, not ink me in for the “life saving operation” on your 36” gate that needed to be replaced 20 years ago!

I realized a few minutes into my time looking at her bathroom, that this woman is neurotic as hell, is obviously gonna be difficult to deal with, and has way more dollars than sense. When I encounter customers like this, I try to be polite, but there is no possible way I would want to work for her.

So please, anyone, if you’re gonna call me for a job, and you’re going thru a manic episode, or you are ready to take out your anger on me, because you’re mad at your husband or whatever the hell is going on… please don’t.

My red flag rule is in full effect from here on out. 1 red flag is too many for me. I’m not a punching bag, or some p**s on you can disrespect (over a $50 repair especially 🙄)

My time in California is most likely limited to 2-3 more years at the most, but if this psycho s**t keeps up, I’m may be packing it in early. I’m not gonna get an ulcer because a potential customer in a +2 million dollar house with a 90k bathroom thinks that I’m thrilled at the opportunity to be a whipping boy.

This customer was such a sweetheart. I kinda figured it was gonna be pretty bad inside the wall, this house has some unique challenges, but it wasn’t that terrible. Kept it clean & bright, and the natural light really helps.
