💧 Has Your Well Head Been Underwater? 💧

With all the heavy rain and flooding we’ve had, many well heads have ended up partially or fully underwater. When that happens, floodwater can carry bacteria, surface runoff, and debris straight into your well.

Once floodwater gets inside, your well may be contaminated with bacteria and other possible contaminants making it unsafe to drink.

If your well head has been underwater at any point during the recent flooding, it’s important to get it checked out as soon as possible. We would recommend having your water tested for bacteria and/or other contaminants, then we will recommend a treatment to ensure you have safe, clean drinking water.

Cloudy or discolored water can be caused by a variety of things, but in this case the video shows something specific — a heavy buildup of sulfur inside the well. Overtime, sulfur can coat the inside of the well and plumbing, and when it breaks loose, it can turn the water dark or even black.

The good news is at Stone Creek Well Service, we can clean your well, flush out the sulfur buildup, and restore clear, fresh water again.
