Bentley Gardens Plant Trivia 🌿
What powers a squirting cucumber’s seed launch?

A A sudden gust of wind
B Liquid under pressure
C An insect’s bite
D Heat from the sun

Make your guess before reading below!

Answer: B — Liquid under pressure. Its ripe fruit holds liquid under pressure. When the fruit separates from its stalk, that pressure fires out a spray of liquid and seeds. This wild plant is toxic and is not an edible cucumber.
