One of the accessories that we got for our mini skid steer was an auger. It can dig an 8 inch or 12 inch hole, up to about 4 feet deep, and we finally got a chance to use it today.

We Purchased our Chinese mini skid steer back in December and purchased a few accessories to dress it up a bit.

One of those accessories is a hydraulic jack hammer and today we decided to dress up the Mandarin Mistress and take her for a spin.

I thought we might have to jump through a few hoops to get it to work, but it actually worked right out of the box without having to solve a rubik's cube.

We had a few tons of concrete slabs lying around the house (who doesn't) and decided they were to be offered up on the altar of education.

We were asked to remove a basketball hoop so we dug it out with the miini-excavator yesterday and carted it away with the mini-skid steer today.

The controls on our CASE 1825B skid steer are pretty different than this mini but the mini has auxiliary functions that the CASE does not have.

We try to always center the grinder on the stump and we're usually pretty close but occasionally we needed to find tune the grinders position (left or right) to properly line up on a stump.

One way to shift the frame left or right is to use the boom. We push the boom into the ground enough to lift the frame off the ground a few inches. Then we swing the boom left or right to get the grinder into the correct position.

From about 14 seconds until about 21 seconds Joshua is shifting the grinder a bit to the left. It's kind of odd looking but it's one of the tricks of the trade.

Thank you Lord Jesus for this tool in our toybox.

We were out grinding some large stumps with the SC1102 (which we call Frankenstein).

We did 3 stumps on this lot. One stump was 52 inches, another was 45 inches this one was 36 inches wide.

We don't use the SC1102 every day, but for large stumps this is definitely the correct tool to use.

Frankenstein's swing covers an arch of 7-1/2 feet wide, can reach a depth of 2 feet deep, and has about double the power of our "smaller" grinders.

This allows us to do the job more productively and offer a better price for the larger stumps.

Thank you Lord Jesus for this tool in our toybox.

We did some snow plowing today with our ancient Aztec CASE 1825B skid steer.

We tried yesterday but starting an old diesel engine when it's bitterly cold outside is like trying to raise the dead.

Then we finally remembered that it has an engine block heater installed. So we charged the battery overnight with the block heater plugged in and hey presto... it starts.

It's a lot easier than using a shovel.
