Did a service call today at a grocery store, a costumer notified one of the employees that there ev charging station was not working. The employee went over to the mechanical room to try and manually override a time clock that the ev charger was on and was hit with a 40amp arc flash. Luckily they were ok. Cause of the accident was one of the clips on the time clock came lose causing the ev charger to not turn on, when they went to manually turn it on the clip made contact with ground and the hot conductor. This is one of those situations we're it could have been much worse. I personally think this was not the best way to set up this ev charger, the fact that all there is to protect someone trying to change the setting from getting electrocuted is a thin pice of plastic is scary.
Moral of the story is, take in consideration people's safety around our electrical equipment, if you don't need a tool to get into a piece of equipment that has live parts then it's most likely a bad idea!!
