As a sole business owner, Master Plumber, and contractor, I see it all the time—homeowners getting hit with inflated bids, especially on bathroom remodels. What should be a straightforward project suddenly comes with a price tag that feels completely out of line.

Here’s the truth: yes, material costs have gone up. Yes, skilled labor matters. But that does not justify excessive markups or vague, padded estimates.

If you’re planning a bathroom remodel or any major plumbing work, protect yourself:
– Get multiple bids. Not one. Not two. At least three.
– Ask for itemized estimates so you can see exactly what you’re paying for.
– Make sure whoever you hire is licensed and insured.
