Frank Gehry's work is more than provocative: it is a sound sculpture of architectural movement in the city's skylines.
Your eye can't help but look at a piece of art screaming to break architectural norms. It's neither "beautiful nor ugly"; it's a statement of a sculptural bridge between design and construction.
I first read about Gehry in relation to his Walt Disney Concert Hall in L.A. and his never-built Guggenheim Museum on the East River, both of which are very similar, reiterating the bridge between cities, sound, and the lack thereof in sculptures shown in museums.
He created for me, in theory, the composed opposite of sound and silence. Where every form is designed to the form of sound reflected in a masterful sculpture that silences every other building around his work. Like a sculpture in a museum that doesn't speak yet screams in frozen form.
He reminds me of a late bloomer.
How the opposite of death composes life - in the terms of The Architect of the Universe - The death of a living body with an Eternal body of Architecture.
at its finest.
Rest In Peace
