We are thrilled to announce that the Little Rock Central High School Science Building and Field House received both an Honor Award and the People’s Choice Award at the 2026 AIA Arkansas Design Awards!

The Honor Award is AIA Arkansas's highest level of design recognition, celebrating projects that demonstrate exceptional architectural excellence, creativity, and thoughtful design. The People’s Choice Award is especially meaningful, as it reflects the public's appreciation for architecture and the impact it has on our communities.

As the first major expansion to this historic campus in more than 50 years, the project presented a unique opportunity to honor Central High School’s remarkable architectural and cultural legacy while creating innovative spaces for future generations of students. We are incredibly proud to see this project recognized by both our peers in the architectural community and the public. Congratulations to the Little Rock School District and our entire project team!

As a longtime design partner of Arkansas Children’s, we are grateful to be part of a community committed to investing in a healthier future for Arkansas children. Thank you to Arkansas Children’s for hosting such a meaningful event!

Congratulations to Ernest Banks, Minority Young Professional of the Year!

We’re proud to celebrate Ernest Banks, who was named Minority Young Professional of the Year at the Little Rock Regional Chamber’s 44th Annual Minority Business Awards Luncheon.

An architectural designer at Polk Stanley Wilcox and a Little Rock native, Ernest is passionate about using design to create opportunity, strengthen communities, and make the architecture profession more accessible to the next generation. That commitment is especially evident in his leadership of Beyond the Divide, a studioMAIN community design initiative focused on reconnecting and revitalizing Little Rock’s historic West Ninth Street corridor. Once a thriving center of Black business, music, and culture, the area was dramatically altered by urban renewal and the construction of I-630. Through Beyond the Divide, Ernest helped lead an effort to honor that history while demonstrating what the corridor’s future could become. Ernest is also the founder of Reinvest in Students Everywhere (RISE), providing scholarships, mentorship, and professional exposure to students interested in architecture. To date, the program has supported more than 70 students and raised approximately $40,000.

We’re proud to have Ernest on the PSW team and to see his commitment to design, mentorship, and the Little Rock community recognized with this well-deserved honor.

Congratulations, Ernest!

School is back in session!

As students head back to the classroom this week, we’re celebrating a few of the K–12 spaces we’ve had the privilege to help bring to life. From classrooms and science labs to athletic facilities, performing arts spaces and places to gather, we believe great schools should inspire students to learn, create, connect and grow.

Here’s to a great school year!
