This is one of the safest and most satisfying DIY upgrades.
Just make sure to:
• Use thread seal tape on clean threads
• Hand‑tighten first, wrench only if needed
• Flush debris before installing
• Check for drips after 5–10 minutes

Most failures come from overtightening and cracking the fitting.

If the valve itself is fine but the handle is stripped or broken, homeowners can safely replace:
