Some mornings, you just need to stop and take in the view.

Grateful for these beautiful Smoky Mountains we get to call home.
No matter where the day takes us, there's always something beautiful to remind us to slow down and breathe.
Good morning from East Tennessee. ❤️

🍒 Fun fact: Cherries, unlike apples, grow fruit on old growth.

So when Jerry is up on that ladder trimming our sweet cherry tree, he has to be a little more careful about what he cuts! 🌳🍒

🐾 Happy National Dog Day! 🐾

Today we celebrate our four-legged friends—the ones who keep us company, make us laugh, and somehow manage to become such a big part of our families. ❤️

Here’s our sweet Ella, showing off a few of her favorite places to be. 🐶

Now let’s see YOUR dog! Drop a photo in the comments. We’d love to meet all your furry friends! 🐾❤️

RIP Dolly Parton ❤️

My feed has been filling up with pictures, memories and tributes to Dolly Parton, and I think what strikes me most is how many different generations have a connection to her.

living here, spending so much of our time in Sevier County, visiting Dollywood seeing her family play on the stages, passing her statue in downtown regularly, and watching my grandson now getting his monthly books through Dolly’s the Imagination Library… somehow, she has still been part of all our lives like she has for so many across the country. Heck, my own mom even worked at Dollywood for a couple of years like many other locals.

And I think that’s what makes this loss hit different to many. She wasn’t just some Hollywood type celebrity around here, Dolly wasn’t just somebody famous who happened to come from Tennessee. She was part of the community. She built something here that became part of the identity of East Tennessee, and her reach went so far beyond it.

I’ve already seen people wondering how many will make their way to Sevierville, Dollywood and the places that meant so much to her. Flowers are already appearing at her statue, and I have a feeling our little corner of Tennessee is going to be grieving, remembering and probably welcoming a whole lot of visitors in the days ahead.

We thought last weekend was insanely crowded with Jeep Invasion. I’m guessing Sevier County hasn’t seen anything yet.

Thank you for giving so many people a little piece of Tennessee to carry with them. ❤️

⭐️ Side note this photo is from 7yrs ago and the kids are all grown up now and husband & I have aged quite a bit 😂 but it’s from when we first showed up in TN before we offically made it our home

Thanks for being a Top Fan. (Love your photos you post.)

Today East Tennessee feels a little different.

Dolly Parton wasn’t just a country music legend to us. She was part of the place we call home.

Jerry and I had the privilege of working at Dollywood for a couple of years, and we have so many good memories of that time. It truly was a fun place to work.

But what has always stood out to me most about Dolly wasn’t the fame. It was her heart.

When the fires devastated Gatlinburg and the surrounding communities, Dolly stepped up and helped families who had lost everything. And when Hurricane Helene devastated our area, she stepped up again.

That’s Dolly.

She never forgot where she came from, and she never forgot the people around her.

Today, like so many others, we’re remembering a remarkable woman who gave so much to East Tennessee and to the world.

Rest easy, Dolly. ❤️

You will always be a part of these mountains.
