Ever wonder what aeration actually does for your lawn?

Over time, your soil becomes compacted from mowing, foot traffic, weather and just everyday use. When the soil gets compacted, it makes it harder for water, air and nutrients to reach the roots.

Core aeration removes small plugs of soil throughout the lawn. This helps relieve compaction and creates openings for water, air and nutrients to get down into the root zone.

And yes, we leave the plugs on the lawn. They might not look pretty for a few days, but they break down naturally and put nutrients and organic matter right back into the soil.

Pairing aeration with overseeding is also a great way to help thicken up thin areas and improve the lawn going into next season.
