Good design often comes down to how individual elements meet. Here, the continuous countertop and backsplash establish a strong horizontal line while the expansive windows bring the surrounding landscape directly into the kitchen. The subdued palette keeps the focus on proportion, material transitions, and natural light.

These finished details may look simple, but they depend on careful coordination from design through installation.

Building a home requires the collaboration of various experts, including an architect, contractor, builder, and interior designer. In the end, the work of these professionals comes together to create the ambiance of a home. For instance, this room’s large windows, wooden wall, bowl pendant, and neutral furniture create a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Our clients wanted a large, welcoming porch to be part of this home addition. The goal was to create a space that would feel connected to the home while opening up to the outdoors.

The wood ceiling brings warmth and continuity, while the skylights draw natural light down through the length of the porch. Carrying the same wood detailing around each opening keeps the ceiling cohesive while adding subtle variation and interest overhead.

Window walls have many benefits including making a space feel larger and improving natural light. But the main reason it was built into this home was to connect its residents with the outdoors, creating the feel of a rustic yet luxurious retreat.

In a double-height great room, scale has to be managed carefully. Without enough visual structure, the room can feel oversized and disconnected.

Here, the full-height stone fireplace creates a strong vertical anchor and gives the eye a clear focal point. The suspended light fixture reinforces the height of the room, while the interior balcony and dark steel detailing introduce horizontal layers that break the volume into more readable sections.

At the lower level, the large sectional and substantial wood console help ground the space, creating a more intimate zone within the larger room.
