Thinking of a bathroom remodel?🚿
Before demo day, there are a few decisions worth thinking through first:
1.) Tub, shower…or both?
Think about how your household actually uses the bathroom. Do you need a tub for kids or resale flexibility? Would you rather use that space for a larger walk-in shower? Or is there room for both? Function should come before trends.
2.) Vanity + storage
A beautiful vanity is great, but it also needs to work for everyday life. Think about one sink or two, drawers vs. cabinets, countertop space, linen storage, and where you’ll keep towels, toiletries, hair tools, and cleaning supplies.
3.) Tile choices
There may be more tile decisions than you realize. Flooring, shower walls, shower floors, niches, backsplashes, grout color, and accent tile can all play a part. Choosing them together helps the space feel intentional and cohesive.
4.) Lighting
Bathrooms need more than one source of light. Consider overhead lighting, vanity lighting, shower lighting, and natural light. The right lighting can make the space easier to use and completely change how it feels.
5.) Fixtures + finishes
Faucets, shower fixtures, cabinet hardware, mirrors, towel bars, and lighting all contribute to the final look. Choosing your main finish early can make it much easier to keep everything coordinated.
6.) Budget + priorities
Decide where you want to spend more and where you’re comfortable saving. Maybe the walk-in shower is the priority, while you’re okay choosing a more budget-friendly vanity or tile.
A bathroom remodel should be about more than making the space look better — it should make your everyday routine easier and your home more functional.
