Going through old pictures for some work I’m doing and felt this is worth talking about. Both are jobs Audrey & I did, however details are very different. The first pic, the bump in has a 3” radius. A previous company we worked for used this method. They are a great company, but produce a huge volume of work and details slow the flow. Doing a 3” radius meant the CNC didn’t have to switch tooling and was faster in production turn around. It’s important to know that quartz doesn’t like 90 degree corners and can crack. However, you can go to a 3/8” radius and it looks much better. After doing lots of research and asking lots of manufacturers of quartz many questiosn, we learned if we miter the edge there are ways to still give the customer the bump out they want and protect the stone giving the clients the look they desire, with the long life stone should deliver.
