g the certification with the appropriate village department or city appointed filing company. Customers will receive our annual reminder postcard in the spring each year. Please call to add your home or business to our list, if you are not on it. The following cities require an added filing fee, as dictated by the municipality:
Algonquin, Antioch, Bannockburn, Barrington, Buffalo Grove, Crystal Lake, Deerfield, Des Plaines, Fox Lake, Glencoe, Grayslake, Gurnee, Kenilworth, Lake Villa, LCPW, Libertyville, Lincolnshire, Lincolnwood, Lindenhurst, Mount Prospect, Mundelein, Niles, North Chicago, Northfield, Palatine, Park Ridge, Prospect Heights, Riverwoods, Round Lake, Round Lake Beach, Schaumburg, Skokie, Unincorporated Cook County, Volo, Wauconda, Waukegan, Wheeling, Wilmette, and Winthrop Harbor. Cities not listed DO NOT require an added filing fee at this time. (call for current pricing, filing fee prices and added cities are subject to change without notice).

Previously appointments with inside devices were unable to schedule online. We have taken steps to correct that.

As of 2026, you can now schedule your appointment for inside testing too. The confirmation email is sent once we arrange the date/time with you. Be sure to provide the best phone number to reach you.

As always, your account balance can be paid online using credit card. No fees!

Alfa’s Annual Backflow Testing Program

$65.00 Backflow Test (does not include filing fees, where applicable)

Backflow (RPZ) Testing is an annual requirement per the EPA, an Illinois state law enforced by your local village/water purveyor. Our annual Backflow Program consists of testing the backflow device, including filing the certification per village requirements. Backflow devices are installed on any cross connection situation, residential or commercial, as required by your city. Most backflow devices are installed on (just to name a few) Lawn Sprinkler Systems, Water Fed Pools, Fire Sprinkler Systems, Domestic Water applications, Dental Chairs, Industrial Dish Washers/Washing Machines/Soap Dispensers and more. Over the years there are many municipalities who are are now outsourcing their filing of the test results to an online filing system, resulting in a filing fee for many of those cities. (Example: BSI Online, The Compliance Engine, Aqua Backflow, CCRA) Please contact the office to confirm total costs, if your city is using one of these companies. If your filing fee is charged directly from your city; such as Des Plaines, you must submit your own filing fee to your municipality.

Alfa Backflow services Lake County, McHenry, and The North Shore in N Cook County. For larger quantities we may be able to offer services outside of our normal territory. Please contact the office for more information.
