OUR HISTORY
Established as Valley Tree Service in 1975, our company came from humble beginnings. Making $20 to remove mistletoe from a tree, my Uncle, Timothy Moffett, had an idea. Starting with just a pick-up truck, a vision and a very supportive wife (Rhonda Moffett), Uncle Tim began trimming trees for family and friends. As word spread of Tim's work, his business grew exponentially. In the ear
ly 90's, Tim and Rhonda relocated from Sacramento to El Dorado County. Because of the geographical change, Tim decided to change the name of our company to Sierra Valley Tree Service. I always loved when Tim would surprise my brother and I on Friday's to pick us up early from school. We spent many weekends, holidays and summers at their house. I thoroughly enjoyed going to work with my Uncle in the summer. Ever since I was a little kid, I knew this is what I wanted to do with my life. I remember a little toy fire truck I customized to be a boom truck and painted Valley Tree on the door. In 1997, Tim and Rhonda made a decision that I will forever be thankful for. They asked me and my brother to come live with them so they could raise us as their own. Tim ran a very successful business for the next 16 years before being diagnosed with Cutaneous T-Cell Lymphoma. After a long and courageous battle, Tim passed away in July 2014. From that day, I made it my mission to ensure my Uncle's legacy lived on. After saving money, studying and testing, I obtained my Contractor's License. On November 30th, 2015, my loving Aunt Rhonda, named me Owner of Sierra Valley Tree Service. It is my honor to continue Tim's legacy of providing excellent tree service at an affordable price. Please contact me for all of your tree service needs. Sincerely,
Matthew Moffett
