Before anyone on our crew sets foot on a roof, there is a routine that happens first.

Harnesses are checked, boots are inspected, and the ladder placement is confirmed twice. A crew that treats safety as a habit instead of an afterthought is a crew that shows up ready to do good work day after day.

We would rather be careful than fast. 🤙

Did you know that wind rarely peels a shingle from the top down? As it moves over and around a roofline, wind creates a pressure difference that works to lift shingle edges from underneath rather than peeling them from the top.

A properly sealed, correctly fastened shingle resists that uplift far better than one installed with shortcuts, even if both look identical from the ground.

Word travels fast on a small island, especially when it comes to who you trust with something as important as your roof.

Most of our new customers come to us through word of mouth, someone who already trusted us with their own roof and passed our name along. No advertisement can manufacture that, and it only happens because the last job was done right.

We never treat a referral like that lightly, on this island or any other we serve. 🌺

Repeated wind and rain events do more damage to a roof over a long season than any single storm usually does on its own.

Central Pacific forecasters have projected five to thirteen tropical cyclones this year, compared with four or five in an average season, and each pass adds more stress to the same fasteners and flashing points. A roof that handled the first storm fine can still be working loose by the third or fourth.

An inspection midway through the season can catch that fatigue before it becomes a leak. Call us at 📲 808-300-0637.

Does a new roof actually pay for itself when you sell? Our newest blog breaks down what the resale data really shows, and the answer is not as simple as a straight dollar-for-dollar return.

It also gets into how appraisers and insurers read an aging roof, plus the one timing detail that can make or break a sale in Hawaii's market.

Did you know? An emergency tarp is only ever meant to buy time, not solve the problem. A properly installed tarp keeps water out in the short term, but it is not built to survive another round of high wind or weeks of exposure.

Tarps do not last as long as people expect, especially in Hawaii's trade winds. A tarp that looked secure a week ago can work its way loose without anyone noticing, and by the time it fails, water damage is often already happening inside.

Every one of our supervisors and at least half of our installers carry the Master Shingle Applicator designation from CertainTeed®, a credential that requires passing a real test on the manufacturer's own installation manual, not just years on the job.

That distinction is part of what keeps our SELECT ShingleMaster™ certification active. It also means the person actually setting shingles on your roof has been tested on the same standards our certification is built around, not just trained informally by whoever they worked under first.

Proud of the crew that keeps that number where it needs to be. 💪

With the Central Pacific tracking an above-normal season this year, we know storm-related roof damage cannot always wait for a normal scheduling window.

If your roof took a hit this season, we move that request to the front of the line instead of the standard scheduling queue. Our team documents the damage, puts a plan in place quickly, and helps make sure a temporary tarp does not end up staying temporary for weeks.

Call us at 📲 808-300-0637 if your roof needs attention now.

When a storm passes through, our phones start ringing before the rain even fully clears. That is just part of being a local company. People we have worked with for years, and plenty we have not met yet, calling to ask if their roof is okay.

There is something grounding about being the kind of business people think to call first. We are out driving neighborhoods the next morning, checking on past customers even before they call, because that is just how it works on islands this size.

Being part of this community means showing up when it counts, not just when it is convenient!

With El Niño driving an above-normal outlook for the Central Pacific this year, we have been getting more questions about what actually helps a roof hold up when a storm comes through.

Start by trimming back branches that hang over the roofline, since falling limbs cause a surprising amount of storm damage. Secure loose items near the house before a storm is in the forecast, not after. An early-season inspection also helps catch a loose ridge cap or worn flashing while there is still time to fix it.

If you haven't had your roof checked yet this season, now is a good time. Call us at 📲 808-300-0637.
