Today marks the grand opening ceremony of the Obama Presidential Center — and we’re proud to have played a role in bringing the Athletic Center to life. From the first stages of construction to seeing the exterior stand complete, it’s exciting to watch the vision become reality. Opportunities to contribute to projects that will become part of Chicago’s landscape and community don’t come around every day.

Thank you to everyone involved who helped make it happen. We’re honored to have been part of the team.

Update on our newest teammate Darcy….
She is a busy girl at 5 months old now and goes to work every day at the American Igloo Builders office, making our office a better place to work. 😊

On the weekends, she makes weekly visits to a nursing/rehab facility where she spreads love and also participates in 2x monthly training sessions with other Canine Companion pups in the Chicagoland area.

We’re proud to have contributed on The Haven on Lincoln — a project creating dignified transitional housing for Chicagoans experiencing homelessness.

This transformation of the former Diplomat Motel into a supportive living space represents more than construction; it’s an investment in people, stability, and community. Projects like this remind us that the work we do has the power to create meaningful impact beyond the jobsite.

Thank you to the entire team involved in bringing this important project to life. We’re honored to have played a role in helping build a space designed to provide safety, privacy, and support for those who need it most.

The former Diplomat Motel has been renovated into a transitional housing complex offering 37 private rooms to unhoused residents seeking a fresh start.

Meet Darcy, our newest (and furriest) colleague! 🐾

We are thrilled to announce we're part of the Canine Companions® puppy raising program! Over the next 16 to 18 months, we will be helping raise Darcy, a Labrador/Golden Retriever mix, as she begins her journey to becoming a life-changing service dog.
As volunteer puppy raisers, our team will provide Darcy with a safe home, basic obedience training, and essential socialization to prepare her for professional service dog school.

Why are we doing this?

Mission-Driven: Canine Companions provides expertly trained service dogs to children, adults, and veterans with disabilities at no cost to the recipient.

Independence: These dogs are trained in over 45 tasks—from pulling wheelchairs to opening doors—to provide their future partners with greater independence.

Community: Raising a future service dog in the workplace encourages disability awareness and strengthens our team bond.
