Today we celebrated the ribbon cutting for FoodChain’s Neighborhood Green Grocery, a new 2,000 square foot grocery store bringing fresh produce, pantry staples, and everyday essentials to a Lexington neighborhood that has long been without one.
Tate Hill Jacobs Architects provided architectural design services for this project, work that began for us in 2024 and has been years in the making. We've partnered with FoodChain for almost 15 years, and watching this space open its doors to the community is one of our proudest moments in that partnership.
The grocery sources from farms and producers across multiple Kentucky counties, connecting local growers directly to a neighborhood that needs them. It's a space built to hold FoodChain's indoor farm, kitchen, and food access programs together under one roof at 501 West Sixth Street.
