Last weekend, our owner Cam and our mascot, Doc, were invited to Jeptha Creed for a Paws of War event celebrating the distillery’s 10-year anniversary.

Cam was asked to share the story of how he and Doc found each other, and how Paws of War changed both of their lives.

The day held an extra surprise for Doc: he was reunited with the man who personally brought him to the U.S. from Kosovo almost 4 years ago. 🥹

Paws of War is a nonprofit that rescues animals and reunites them with veterans, and Doc made it to the U.S. because of them. As a veteran-owned company, this cause is personal to us.

Thank you to Jeptha Creed & Paws of War for the invitation and for 10 years of supporting this mission. Congratulations on the milestone! 🥃

The story behind our mascot. 🐾 Paws of War brought Doc to the USA and into our lives, and we couldn't be more grateful. As a veteran-owned company, this cause hits close to home.

If you're looking to give back, check out Paws of War and help a vet save a pet, or a pet save a vet.

PAWS OF WAR BROUGHT DOC THE DOG HOME TO HIS SOLDIER. YEARS LATER, HE IS STILL CHANGING LIVES.

We recently received a beautiful update from MacKenzie about Doc, the dog Paws of War rescued and brought to America for her boyfriend, a U.S. Army Specialist.

Doc was about six months old when he found his Soldier on a military base during an overseas deployment. The two became best friends almost immediately. They shared Cinnamon Toast Crunch, watched the movie Tombstone together and became inseparable. That movie also inspired Doc’s name!

With the help of Paws of War, Doc made it safely to the United States, where he met the rest of his Soldier’s family and quickly won everyone over. When his Soldier returned home, they picked up right where they left off, enjoying car rides, exploring the outdoors and play fighting together.

It was at that point Makenzie entered both of their lives.

MacKenzie says meeting Doc and his Soldier changed HER life forever too!& ;

Today, the three of them travel together, take countless car rides for pup cups and visit dog parks, wineries and anywhere else that welcomes Doc. Tennessee is one of his favorite places. MacKenzie even taught him how to howl!

Doc is intelligent, loving and deeply loyal. When his Soldier is not around, Doc becomes MacKenzie’s little protector. He can be a true guard dog when needed, but he is also a complete love bug. When he encounters Service Members he knew during the deployment, it is clear that he has never forgotten them.

This is what your support makes possible. You help bring beloved animals home from overseas and give them the chance to spend their lives with the Service Members and families who love them.

Please donate so Paws of War can continue creating life changing reunions and helping more heroes bring their animals home:

Twenty-five years ago, our nation changed forever. Today, we pause to remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001 — the husbands, wives, sons, daughters, coworkers, and friends whose absence is still felt by the families and communities who loved them.

We also honor the firefighters, police officers, first responders, and service members who ran toward danger that day and in the years of service that followed. As a veteran-owned business, that spirit of courage and sacrifice isn't abstract to us — it's part of who we are.

Today and always, we remember. 🇺🇸

🔥 Kentucky Heat Wave? We’re Not Sweating It.

Extreme heat doesn’t just strain your comfort — it strains your home. AC units overworking, water heaters under extra load, attics and crawl spaces trapping humidity — it’s the perfect setup for leaks, water damage, and mold.

If the heat gets the better of your home, Mule Restoration is ready. Veteran-owned, locally operated, and built for whatever Kentucky summer throws at you.

We’re not afraid of the heat. We just make sure it doesn’t cost you your house.
