alt32 serves our Education clients and Design/Build partners across a range of institutions.

Our Mission is to act as a creative agent for our clients with the goal of making beautiful architecture and design. Our practice assumes both public and private work, and is consistently dedicated to research and process to inform our designs and business model. We believe that architectural practice is an intellectual pursuit, fueled by collaboration.

Representatives from alt32 (Lynsey Jordan-Cavallo and Joe Cavallo, AIA, CID) attended the Louisville State of the Downtown yesterday. Rebecca Fleischaker of Downtown LOU gave a great overview of the wonderful things coming for Louisville's downtown in 2026, and Jeff Speck's presentation of the 2-way street conversions and what makes a city truly walkable was fascinating. Bright things ahead!

We wanted to take a moment to wish the women of the A/E/C industry a happy Women in Construction Week! According to NCARB, every two in five professionals that achieve architectural licensure are women. By many accounts, the number of women in construction grows as well, including in managerial roles. The 2024 AIA Membership Demographics Report noted that "Gender diversity within overall AIA membership has continued to grow, with the share of women increasing from 19.9% in 2014 to 27.1% in 2024."

In fact, women comprise 60% of alt32, and we'd like to acknowledge their contributions to our firm and to the industry. Thank you!

We're proud to announce the hiring of the newest member of our Lexington office, Designer Kelly McConathy!

Kelly graduated from the University of Kentucky in 2025 with her Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and her Certificate in Historic Preservation. In 2022, she graduated from Bluegrass and Community Technical College in the Architectural Technology program, where she later served as adjunct faculty.

Kelly is excited to work with alt32’s team to build her skills and knowledge in a professional environment and plans to return to school for her graduate degree in architecture, as well as pursuing her license. While working professionally, she is looking forward to exploring her passion for sustainability and obtaining her LEED certification.
