alt32 and our consultant team are proud to reveal the nearly-completed work to the auditorium at the main building of Ashland Community & Technical College. It has been a great joy to see through Phases I and II at ACTC's Main Building over the years, and it's wonderful and rewarding work to partner with Kentucky Community & Technical College System.

Big thanks to our Ph II consultant team and general contractor:

We had a very productive meeting this morning reviewing the full-scale mock-up for the new courtroom design for the renovation to the historic Post Office Building on Barr Street in Lexington, KY. Ted Byrdy of the U.S. Courts led the parties through his thoughts on sight lines from the bench and jury box.

alt32 modeled the space in BIM, but there’s no substitute for seeing your drawings come to life at 1:1 scale.

Thank you to the GSA, the U.S. Courts, and the building trades for the hard work to get this in place, and to our teammate TLC Engineering Solutions as the Engineer of Record.

We're excited to announce one of our summer interns - Matanat Gurbanova! Matanat is currently in pursuit of her Master of Architecture at Virginia Tech. She is excited to join the alt32 team and "...have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects while learning from such talented professionals."

Matanat says: "I appreciate being part of the team with an open and supportive environment, where I feel comfortable asking questions, learning, and improving every day. As I approach to graduation, I see this internship as a chance to grow, strengthen my professional skills, broaden my perspective, and get ready for the next chapter of my architectural journey. I am eager to make the most out of this experience, learn as much as I can, and contribute to the team in every way I can.”

Please help us welcome her to the team!

Joe Cavallo, AIA, CID was in Asheville, NC this week for a site visit and stopped by the beautiful, historic Grove Arcade downtown for some architectural admiration. Built in 1928, the Arcade was constructed to be America's first indoor shopping mall. Designed by Architect Charles N. Parker, this building is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, much like a majority of the buildings our firm has performed work to for the U.S. General Services Administration.

Representatives from alt32 (Lynsey Jordan-Cavallo and Joe Cavallo, AIA, CID) attended the Louisville State of the Downtown yesterday. Rebecca Fleischaker of Downtown LOU gave a great overview of the wonderful things coming for Louisville's downtown in 2026, and Jeff Speck's presentation of the 2-way street conversions and what makes a city truly walkable was fascinating. Bright things ahead!
