Word of the day: TOUCHLESS. Why?
We’ve been hearing with more frequency lately about far too many roofing contractors across South Carolina getting on roofs to do “free roof inspections” and using the opportunity to literally vandalize that homeowner’s roof to get them to file an insurance claim for storm damage.
That’s why we have and will always do TOUCHLESS roof inspections with our state of the art drones. And you get to watch every bit of it to see what we see live, not trusting the word of a guy climbing a roof who has an incentive to find something -anything- to get a commission from it. We just don’t think or work that way.
PS - a message/warning to the roofers out there doing this crap: STOP IT. We’re not naming names (yet) but you’re either coaching it or looking the other way. But you know who you are - and WE KNOW WHO YOU ARE too. We have video and witnesses of you doing it all over the state. Knock it off.
Homeowners: if you let a roofing contractor on your roof, watch them. Like a hawk. It’s not hard or overly complicated to manufacture damage to an asphalt shingle roof - and you might even be okay with it if it helps to get your roof paid by insurance for supposed storm damage. But stop for a moment and think about what happens if it doesn’t? Because that scenario happens with incredible frequency today - even on homes that have legit storm damage. So then what do you do? Because now you have a damaged roof that isn’t covered by insurance, a claim on your record (yes, it affects you), and the roofer that caused all of it is either gone in the wind or wants to “help you out” by essentially extorting you for cash out of your pocket for something that he did! It’s outrageous.
