The tree business has been an exciting part of my life for the better part of a decade. I did my best to deliver a quality service to my customers. I have to brag on all of you. I have had very few, almost no issues at all with any of my customers. Maybe one in my entire time doing this work. Unfortunately the future business model for me in this industry is a combination of huge debt, and physical sacrifice. Facing the need to retool and considering the cost of equipment and maintenance I knew that a time to make this decision was inevitable. As of late, I have been challenged with finding employees that are willing to maintain this type of work for an extended period. Usually about a year is as long as anyone wants to do this demanding type of labor. The cost of training new people results in more demand on me personally and extended wait times for you guys to get work completed. I have not been able to fulfill many obligations in the past because of this reoccurring problem and I do apologize to all that I may have let down. To reach the next level in this business would require staffing that I simply don’t have access to. For too long I have juggled: giving estimates, invoices, maintenance of equipment, equipment repairs, all while being present on every job to ensure the highest quality I could offer. The personal sacrifices I’ve made to get where I am has me stepping away without any regrets. I will miss my customers but I don’t have any reservations about the decision to change paths in my career. I plan on pursuing a future in tech and hopefully some type of innovation. Hopefully creating systems, logic based or monitoring, possibly software development for those that are interested. It will definitely be an uphill climb as I am facing developing a completely new skill set. I hope to find a path that incorporates all the knowledge I’ve gained through the years.
