This Fall, IDS is demo-ing several bridges on New Circle Road, working above a busy railroad, amidst heavy traffic, and in freezing temperatures, but we're meeting the challenge head-on. Shoutout to this crew for their exceptional teamwork and expertise in making this complex demolition project look easy! 💪🔥

Today our team celebrated a very special milestone—1,000 days with no lost time accidents. If that sounds hard to do, that’s because it is…especially in our line of work. Demolition is dangerous work but our team is committed to being knowledgeable and safe on the job. Even if it takes a little longer, or means we have to work a little harder—we choose safety. Congrats to our team on this huge accomplishment! 🦺👷‍♂️🚧

Footage of the pedestrian bridge over Cooper Drive in Lexington coming down last night. Built in the 1970’s, the pedway is being removed to make room for an addition to the Charles E. Barnhart Building. Great job to our night crew for executing safely!

Our team is tasked with demo and removal of a four-story brick structure on Main Street in Middlesboro, Ky with a lot of history. Built in 1910, the landmark was initially an Elk’s Lodge but was donated as an emergency hospital during the Influenza epidemic of 1918. Over the years, the building has served the community in many different ways but eventually fell into disrepair and needed to be removed for the safety of the public.

Our team has done a fantastic job of performing this selective demolition with little to no damage to the buildings in close proximity. We’re excited to see the next chapter for this space!

This week is National Work Zone Awareness Week. In 2024 there were 1,223 work zone crashes resulting in 298 injuries and seven fatalities in Kentucky alone. Of that number, the majority of fatalities in work zones are drivers.

As you travel, please respect work zone speed limits that protect road crews and don’t drive distracted. It’s a matter of life and death.
