Catalyst Architects, LLC Catalyst Architects is a hands-on residential practice in South Carolina. The team is led by its founder, D. Stallworth, AIA.

We share a passion for collaborating with families to create unique, enduring places which bring generations together. Since 1988, Catalyst Architects has been guiding clients through a hands-on process to design homes that bring generations together. This award winning team begins the creative process by carefully listening to each client’s dreams and ideas, and then preparing several freehand co

ncepts for their review and critique. While the design concepts are inspired by each client’s values and experiences, they are also shaped by the characteristics of their unique physical context including views, topography, vegetation, sun angles, and climate. As architects, the team members of Catalyst share a passion for design, but they also greatly value craft. Therefore, in addition to producing a comprehensive set of construction documents for each project (which includes all necessary drawings ranging from structural design, to flashing details, to interior trim profiles), Catalyst remains involved through bidding or negotiating and through the duration of construction. This service is of tremendous value to clients, as it brings continuity to both the process and the product. Through weekly site visits Catalyst is able to assist with reviewing applications for payment, monitoring quality control, and guiding homeowners in decision making which can at times be overwhelming. Wayne Rogers, FAIA, LEED AP and fellow principal, Heather B. Heather and Wayne are both involved in each project from its inception to successful completion. The team has the distinction of including three generations of Rogers, as Wayne’s father, Colonel O. Rogers, Jr., AIA (structural guru) and son, C. Brandon Rogers, AIA (architect), both play key roles in the practice. Through the years, Catalyst’s work has received many design awards and has been featured in publications. However, the true measure of the firm’s success, is the long list of clients who have become friends, and who are experiencing meaningful family time in great houses which will endure through future generations.
