𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗧𝗿𝗲𝗲 𝗔𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗮 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗸𝗲?
When lightning strikes a tree, the electrical current travels through moist tissues beneath the bark, rapidly heating the sap and water inside. The resulting steam pressure can split the bark and wood, often leaving a visible spiral scar along the trunk. The strike can also destroy the cambium, disrupting the tree’s ability to transport water [...]

High humidity creates ideal conditions for fungal diseases and pests, while prolonged heat and drought weaken the tree’s natural stress response. Furthermore, because local clay soil retains water and restricts root depth, heavy [...]

Young trees in Columbia, SC require early structural pruning because their first few years are when their permanent structure is being established. Pruning during this window allows arborists to correct problems such as codominant stems, weak branch unions, included bark, and crossing or rubbing limbs in the early stages when the branches are still small.
