The first cool Friday of fall.

A jacket over the chair.
Dinner outside, because it finally feels right.
Nowhere else to be.

Summer gets most of the attention in Texas.

October might be the better season.

Have a great weekend, North Texas.

Behind the Build

In July, this backyard was a lawn, a few shrubs and a plan.

The plan called for a raised stone wall, a sheer descent spilling into the pool, a tanning ledge with a lit bubbler, and a new deck around all of it.

Getting there took 2.5 months of steps most people never see.

Excavation in July.
Stone and waterline tile set on the raised wall by early August.
New decking poured, then finished with a spray deck.
Plaster in mid-September, and water a few days later.

Now it looks simple.

That's the point.

Inside BMR

Every backyard we build starts in the same place.

Not on a job site.

In a room like this one.

Tile in hand. Stone samples on the counter. A rendering on the wall.

And the people who will see your project through, sitting across the table from you.

This is where we listen first.

Where we talk through how your family actually lives outside, before a single line is drawn.

Where questions get answered before they become problems.

The finished backyard is what everyone sees.

This is where it begins.

💬 What's the first thing you'd want to see in person: tile, stone or the design itself?

Project Spotlight

Some properties come with a view that does most of the talking.

The goal here was simple:

Don't compete with it.

Clean lines. Stacked stone columns. Fire and water at the edge, framing the lake instead of blocking it.

Large pavers broken up by strips of turf, so the patio feels open, not heavy.

At dusk, it all comes together.

The flames come up, water spills from the bowls, and the backyard feels like it was always meant to be here.

🏡 Designed with Purpose

Most backyards are designed for how they look at noon.

But in North Texas, some of the best hours outside happen after the sun goes down.

Light in the water.
Light under the patio.
Light at the base of each post, marking the way from the house to the spa.

Good lighting isn't decoration.

It's what turns a beautiful space into one you actually use at 9 PM in October.

That's why we plan it early, alongside the pool, the patio and how you'll move between them.

Because a backyard shouldn't close when the sun does.

💬 When do you spend the most time outside: morning, afternoon or evening?

Behind the Build

Ten weeks ago, this Argyle backyard was open ground and a string line.

This morning, the finish was acid washed and its true color came through for the first time.

Between those two moments are hundreds of decisions most people will never see.

Excavation. Steel. Plumbing and gas, all placed before a single surface was finished.

Stone and coping set by hand around a raised spa.

A waterline tile chosen to frame the water for years to come.

The finished pool will look effortless.

Getting here took ten weeks of the right decisions, made in the right order.

Water is next.

This is the goal.

A backyard that makes an ordinary Monday feel a little less ordinary.

No special occasion required.

Just home, designed to be enjoyed.

The Question Nobody Asks Until It's Too Late

Everyone asks how big the pool should be.

Not everyone asks where the afternoon sun will be.

And in North Texas, that's a pretty important question.

Think about it.

Will your favorite lounge chair be sitting in direct sunlight at 4 PM?

Will the covered patio actually provide shade when you want to use it?

Will the water features be visible from the rooms where you spend the most time?

Will the outdoor kitchen be comfortable during a Texas summer?

These are the kinds of questions worth answering before construction begins.

Because a backyard can look incredible in a rendering and still miss opportunities to make everyday life more comfortable.

Good design considers the photograph. Great planning considers a Tuesday afternoon in August.

That's Designed with Purpose.
