Nobody wants to finish a project and realize they should’ve planned for something else. 😅

This homeowner in Wi******er needed a dedicated 30-amp RV power connection.

But here’s something we planned ahead for: the wiring was sized with a possible future 50-amp changeover in mind.

The project included underground trenching, electrical installation, and backfilling to get power where it was needed.

It’s a good reminder that sometimes the smartest part of an electrical project happens before the digging even starts.

Planning RV power, a workshop, or another electrical addition to your property? Tell your electrician what you need now AND what you might want down the road. It can make a big difference in how the project is planned.

Ever had half the outlets in a room suddenly stop working, but everything else seems fine? 👀

First thing we’d ask: Did you check for a tripped GFCI outlet?

Sometimes an outlet with those little TEST and RESET buttons protects other outlets on the same circuit. And the one that tripped might not even be in the same room.

But that’s not always the answer.

If the outlets still aren’t working, or the problem keeps coming back, there could be something else going on that needs to be checked.

Sometimes it’s a simple fix. Sometimes it takes a little detective work. That’s why we troubleshoot instead of guessing. ⚡

We hear that one a lot. 😅
Maybe the lights flicker every now and then. One outlet feels warmer than the others. A breaker trips, somebody resets it, and everything works again. Or there’s that weird buzzing everyone has gotten so used to they barely notice it anymore.

And because everything still works, it becomes a “we’ll deal with it later” problem.
Until later finally shows up.

During Fire Prevention Week, here’s the advice we’d give our own family: you don’t need to panic over every little electrical quirk, but you also shouldn’t have an electrical problem you’ve simply learned to live with.

If something keeps tripping, buzzing, getting unusually warm, smelling burnt, sparking, or suddenly behaving differently, it’s worth figuring out why.

And if something in your home or business immediately came to mind while reading this… 👀
You already know which one we’re talking about.

Maybe, but we’d want to look at the electrical requirements first.
One thing we see with new commercial equipment is that the equipment gets picked out before anyone checks whether the building is actually set up to power it.

A new oven, machine, HVAC unit, compressor, or other piece of equipment may need a specific voltage, amperage, dedicated circuit, or more capacity than what’s currently available.

So if you haven’t bought it yet, send your electrician the model/spec sheet first. We can look at what the equipment requires and compare that with what you already have.

That little conversation beforehand can save you from buying something and then finding out the electrical side requires more work than you expected.
Already bought it? Don’t panic 😂 It doesn’t automatically mean there’s a problem. We just need to see what it requires and what your building can support.
Buying equipment for your business? It’s a lot easier to plan the power before the delivery truck shows up. ⚡

No power usually means no well water, too. 👀

That’s exactly what the homeowner wanted to prepare for.
We set the home up with a 50-amp portable generator connection and interlock, then brought the well-house power into the interior panel so the well can be available when running on generator power during an outage.
No dragging extension cords through the house. No trying to figure everything out after the power is already gone.
Just a setup that’s ready when they need it. ⚡
Already have a portable generator but your house isn’t set up to use it? That’s something we can help with.

Ever had a breaker trip, so you reset it and went on with your day? 😅

Or maybe the lights flicker every once in a while, an outlet feels warmer than usual, or you hear a weird buzz and think, “Eh, it’s probably fine.”

We get it. Those little things are easy to brush off when everything still seems to be working.

But if it keeps happening, that’s when it’s worth having someone take a look and figure out why.

Sometimes your home gives you little hints before an electrical issue becomes a bigger headache. ⚡

What’s one weird electrical thing in your house you’ve been ignoring? 👀

Throwback to one of the commercial projects we tackled this summer. ⚡

This one took us across multiple Middle Tennessee locations, setting up and relocating electrical service and power for a seasonal business operation.

From new service and multiple outlets to moving an existing utility pole and getting everything where it needed to be.
