ElecTech Contracting is looking to hire DataCom Technicians. Experience in the DataCom industry is preferred and would earn higher compensation. However, all job inquiries will be reviewed and equally considered.

As a DataCom Technician you will be planning and installing structured cabling systems. These tasks and skills necessary to complete the work include but are not limited to the following:
• Installation of various copper and fiber optic cabling. Including termination/splicing, testing, and troubleshooting of all installed cabling and devices.
• Must have the ability to read, understand and interpret project drawings and documents.
• Must have ability to safely operate various types of tools and equipment that are related to this industry (personal hand and power tools, copper and fiber optic testing equipment, company provided tools)
• Must possess the skills to properly communicate with your peers, customers, and management.
• Must have reliable transportation to the project site.
• Must have the ability to always work in a safe manner.
• Must be able to work in environments that may be hot or cold. This includes indoors and outside work.
• Must be able to climb stairs and work off step and extension ladders. At times the job will require you to work in higher locations that will require you be on and sometimes operate aerial lifts.

Are you looking for a change??

So why not become a DataCom Technician?

What is a DataCom Technician? We are glad you asked. That little device you are probably using to read this message would be virtually worthless if it were not for data. I am not going to bore you and tell you that data is the characters or symbols on which the operations are performed by a computer or a phone, then are stored and transmitted in the form of electrical signals. While that is all true, it’s somewhat boring.

These electrical signals, or data, wouldn’t even get to your phones or computer if it weren’t for the wires and fiber optic cable veins that gives this data a pathway to your fingertips.

Enter you, a DataCom Technician with ElecTech Contracting. You will be responsible for installing those wires and fiber optic cables that helps make data transmission possible. Maybe not to the scale of mobile phone cellular towers, but within and between buildings like schools and offices and commercial businesses. In some cases, multiple buildings over an entire college or business campus. We call it network infrastructure. And this network is not possible without data wiring and fiber-optic systems.

We here at ElecTech Contracting are looking to add more DataCom Technicians to our team. Experience in this field would be great and would earn higher compensation. But we will also consider someone with great personal drive, general mechanical skills, and the willingness to learn this awesome trade.
