🚨 WE NEED YOUR HELP GETTING THE WORD OUT! 🚨

Right now, we have only 11 applicants for The Shaffer Foundation of Delaware First Responder Scholarship Fund — and we want to make sure every eligible Delaware student has the opportunity to apply!

🎓 $2,500 Scholarship Opportunity for Delaware First Responder Families! 🎓

The scholarship is open to Delaware high school students graduating in 2027 who are planning to attend an accredited:
🎓 College or University
🔧 Trade School

The applicant must be the child of a Delaware first responder, including:
👨‍🚒 Firefighter
🚒 Fire Police
👮 Police Officer
🚑 Paramedic
📞 Dispatcher

Trade school students are absolutely eligible! We want to make sure families know that continuing education doesn't have to mean a four-year college.

❤️ One deserving student will receive a $2,500 scholarship to help with their educational journey and future goals.
📅 Application Deadline: November 30, 2026

👉 PLEASE SHARE THIS POST! Help us reach first responder families, high schools, guidance counselors, fire companies, police departments, EMS organizations and communities throughout Delaware.

We know there are more eligible students out there. Let's make sure they know about this opportunity! ❤️💙🇺🇸

What a difference!

It’s harvest season, and our roads are busier with farm equipment. Please stay patient when you encounter slow‑moving machinery and only pass when it’s truly safe to do so. Leaving a couple of minutes early can help ensure you get to your destination on time!

Farm operators know their equipment can delay traffic and will pull over at the first safe opportunity to let vehicles pass. However, open space doesn’t always mean a safe shoulder. Soft, wet, or uneven ground can cause equipment to tip or sink, and some shoulders simply can’t support the weight.

If you’re sharing the road with farm equipment, give them space, be patient, avoid assumptions, and keep safety first!
