If your deck is.... used often, it could be showing some wear n tear. In the case of this deck, we just needed to replace the boards. The frame was still in great shape. We added a bit of lattice and now the entire yard has a fresh new look!

My sister in law had an odd sized window she wanted to replace. Instead spending $$$$$ on a custom size I refit two standard size windows to fill the space. Great new look, added tons of curb appeal!

Today I had a fun little project. Great for making the yard more welcoming and not spending a fortune. We added a water feature and landscaped the area. All the items used were found or salvaged. In total the project cost less than $20 in materials and really warms up the back yard without over doing it. Thanks laurie for a creative day!

Couple more before and afters of the paver project.

Here's a tip to extend the life of your hardscape and drastically reduce your maintenence:
Use Perma sand, instead of other sand to fill your grout lines. The additives in it are designed to harden with water. This effectivly locks the pavers in place, reduces erosion of sand bed, and keeps out most insects and plant life.
But You have to follow the directions when using it or you could cause serious damage to your patio.

A one day job, a few hundred dollars and a HUGE transformation. Changing the old wooden spindles for new iron balusters is a small project with big impact.
