BIG IRON THIS WEEK AT MOGENSEN TREE CARE!

This week brought some serious iron to the jobsites with two removals that demanded precision, planning, and the right equipment!

-JOB #1: 100+ FOOT MAPLE REMOVAL

When you're dealing with a maple standing over 100 feet tall, you need to bring out the BIG iron! We set up a 50-ton crane right in the driveway, reaching all the way to the far corner of the home to safely handle this massive tree. Our 64-foot boom lift wasn't even close to having enough height for this one, so it was time to bring in the heavy artillery!

-JOB #2: ROTTEN SILVER MAPLE BETWEEN TWO HOMES

Our next challenge was removing a rotten silver maple growing between two homes, with one limb sitting less than 12 inches from the roofline! With such tight quarters and valuable property surrounding the tree, there was absolutely no room for error. We brought in our grapple truck to assist with picking and handling the tree sections, allowing us to carefully manage the removal and protect the surrounding homes.

Here are some VERY large jobs! We'll be honest here-we do struggle with judging on sizes of trees- because we get called in on the "nasty" ones all the time. What is "big" anymore? When we look back at the work we put in, craftsmanship, & pride we conduct ourselves. That is when we realize how BIG these trees really are & how big our hearts are to delivering highest quality of service to our client's! Just astounding on how far we have came in short period of time....

Let's start with the Poplars- Nothing under 75+ feet here easily. Short lifespan & have out grown the space. Scary to think about if these trees would have failed under a storm there would be no drivable access to the home if emergency would occur or even property damage. Now, Silver Maple here has incredible story- massive tree been told one of the oldest tree's in New Germany. Upon assessment open cavities riddle throughout the tree knowing we potentially would have rot/internal decay. Very concerning because THOUSANDS of pound overhang the client's beautiful home. Called in the professionals at Mogensen Tree Care & we got to work! We even used another company to help us complete services Chuck's Stump Grinding LLC out of Waverly!

(4) Different Communities. (4) ASH Tree Removals. ONE BUSY SEASON!

Post start off in Lester Prairie, Silver Lake, Hamburg, & ends in New Germany
Lester Prairie-Removing an ash tree that had failed upon it's own weight (Not storm damage) due to Ember Ash Borer -EAB sometimes we feel like a broken record but EAB is very serious! We protected the client's property working around beautiful patio area & even a Koi fish pond (that was a first for us) beautiful fish!

Silver Lake- Another ash removal, safely taking down a tree that had reached the point where removal was the right option for the property. Below in the picture shown client had a very serious problem vertical spilling compromised the integrity of the tree & was a major safety issue for persons & property

Hamburg- Finishing up another Ash removal and helping the homeowner being proactive then reactive. We will be back this fall to remove the other one.

New Germany- Client didn't want to keep a dying tree on the property. Especially, when it overhangs powerlines, the home, and close a busy county road.

Ash trees have become a major concern across Minnesota, and we continue to see firsthand just how many homeowners are dealing with declining, dead, or compromised Ash trees. We strongly recommend removing these dying trees ASAP these trees are compound interest more decay & more liability equals more cost

These are our favorite services to provide- Removal, Stump grinding, Re-Planting, & with a hint of Landscaping all on one property!

Took us two rounds of services to make all this possible. From massive Spruce with a rotten/hallow trunk to planting (2) Red pointe Maples & (1) Royal Red Maple.

Funny story, about the Royal Red Maple is that it's actually purple. These are perfect urban trees Medium growth height to jaw-dropping colors. We installed Black mulch with edging & to top it off added a light rock border to compliment aesthetic landscaping on the property! Turned out perfectly
-Even laid sod down on this property

Holy Smokes! Check this out
Another property completely transformed!

This project had a very tight construction timeline, so our crew got right to work. Client had shed being built but could not start until our services were completed

- Cut a shed pad 8" deep for a solid foundation into a hillside
- Hauled away all overburden and waste material
- Removed a large spruce tree and raised the canopy on the Maple high enough to provide proper roof clearance
- Removed 6 total trees on the property
- Ground 8 stumps, leaving the property clean and ready for the next phase

We take pride in keeping projects on schedule while delivering quality work from start to finish! Bummed we didn't get a lot of photos during the process everything was climbed with rope & saddle- but we did get to try out our chipper we bought it's new to the fleet & really break in our stump grinder! All glory to God on how much we have grown in only year 2 of being in business

This isn't the end of the transformation-we'll be back this fall to refresh all the mulch beds and install new shrubs to complete the landscape. There's nothing better than bringing new life to a backyard! In today's 95 degree temperatures- Happy Saturday everyone!

We recently just completed a planting project featuring two B&B 4" diameter Red Maple 'Sun Valley' trees, and we couldn't be happier with the transformation. What was once a large, open backyard now has two beautiful focal points that will provide shade, character, and stunning seasonal color for years to come.
