Hey Electricians!

We're growing and looking for an experienced electrician who might be interested in transitioning out of the field and into more of an office-based Estimator / Project Manager position.

We really like the idea of bringing in someone who's spent years in the trade because they understand what actually goes into installing electrical work, how long things should take, and the little details that someone without field experience might miss.

This isn't a role that pushes for upselling. It's more about estimating projects, working with customers and contractors, and managing jobs from start to finish. We have a Production Manager who handles the daily field operations.

The position offers an $80K–$120K base salary, plus performance bonuses, a company vehicle, and benefits.

Meet the Team Monday!

This week, we’re excited to introduce another great member of the Robbins Electric crew: Greg Crossno!

From Columbia, MO, Greg has been in the electrical trade for 10 years. He got his start when a next door neighbor who owned an electrical company gave him an opportunity to learn the trade, and the rest is history!

Greg’s favorite part of electrical work is that there’s always something new and always something to learn. That mindset fits right in with the way we like to do things around here.

When he’s off the clock, Greg enjoys fishing, playing pickleball, and coaching his daughter in softball and his son in football. You can usually find him at the family pond or relaxing in the backyard with his wife and kids. His happy place is simple and meaningful: being around family.

Greg’s proudest accomplishment is being a dad and husband and we’d say that’s a pretty great one.

This week, we’re excited to introduce another great member of the Robbins Electric crew: William Luke Bouldin! ⚡🙌

Originally from Okinawa, Japan, William Luke began pursuing the electrical trade in 2023 after a lifelong love of working with electronics. One of his favorite parts of the job is getting to help people fix their electrical issues and seeing the smiles on their faces when the work is done right 💡🔧.

William Luke enjoys everything from computers to simple light fixtures, especially getting the chance to open things up and see how they operate. When he’s off the clock, you can usually find him fishing, watching movies with his wife, playing video games, or spending time with his puppy 🎣🎮🐶.

His happy place? Out on the dock with a rod and tackle box which sounds pretty peaceful to us!

A proud personal accomplishment is earning team MVP in high school and ranking top 5 in the state for total tackles during the season 👏🏈.

We are seeking a driven, detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to join our team in the Kansas City area. We reward accurate, high-quality estimating over raw sales volume—ensuring every project we win is profitable and set up for success in the field.

Position Overview

The Electrical Estimator will prepare detailed, accurate cost estimates and proposals for residential, commercial, and specialty electrical projects. You will evaluate plans, scope out on-site job requirements, build customer relationships, and partner with our field crews to deliver seamless projects.

This role offers a strong base pay rate ($30–$40/hr) plus a performance-driven quarterly bonus ($2,500/quarter potential) designed to reward high-margin sales, estimating accuracy, and operational efficiency rather than just gross volume.

Key Responsibilities

Proposal & Bid Preparation: Read blueprints, job specifications, and site plans to calculate accurate material, labor, equipment, and permit costs.
On-Site Scoping: Visit residential and commercial job sites to evaluate existing electrical conditions, perform take-offs, and assess project needs.
Client & Contractor Relations: Serve as a primary point of contact for prospective customers, GC partners, and home/property owners. Explain job scopes clearly and deliver timely proposals.
Profitable Closing: Follow up on estimates, handle customer inquiries, and close contracts while maintaining strong gross profit margins.
Field Hand-off & CRM Maintenance: Maintain meticulous details in our CRM and collaborate closely with field leaders and electricians to ensure estimated labor aligns with actual project ex*****on.
Qualifications & Requirements

Experience: 2+ years of electrical estimating, project management, or hands-on electrical experience (Journeyman electrician background is a major plus!).
Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), local Kansas City area codes, blueprint reading, and trade estimating practices.
Software Skills: Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., McCormick, Accubid, Planswift, or trade CRM systems) and standard office software (Excel, Word).
Communication & Organization: Strong interpersonal skills with high attention to detail, pipeline management, and timely turnaround.
License/Requirements: Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
Compensation & Performance Incentive

Base Pay: $30.00 – $40.00 per hour ($62,400 – $80,000 annual base range)
Quarterly Performance Bonus: Potential to earn up to $2,500 per quarter ($10,000/year potential) through our quarterly incentive program. Unlike traditional volume-only models, our bonus rewards quality and profitability across every phase of the project lifecycle. This is not an entry-level position. We need someone who can troubleshoot, solve problems, communicate with customers, and work independently in both residential and commercial service settings.

Pay: $32–$40/hour, based on experience
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
After-hours/emergency work: Possible, depending on service calls Company vehicle: Provided
Experience: 5+ years preferred

What You’ll Do:
Service work will be your main responsibility. You may also help on existing projects when needed.

Typical work includes:

-Troubleshooting lost power, tripping breakers, and GFCIs that will not reset
-Diagnosing wiring, lighting, outlet, switch, and panel issues
-Pulling new circuits in remodel situations
-Completing small repairs and electrical upgrades
-Working in occupied homes, businesses, remodels, and active job sites
-Documenting work with ServiceTitan and CompanyCam
What We’re Looking For:
