IF YOU HAVE A TANKLESS WATER HEATER, FLUSH IT BRFORE IT SHUTS DOWN DUE TO CALCIUM BUILD-UP ON THE SENSORS!
Tankless water heater lesson 101:
Listen up people, In this hard water area of the country, You MUST flush it and clean the filter on the cold water inlet at least once a year, every 6 months is best to remove the calcium buildup on the sensors or else it WILL eventually have a build-up that will shut it down resulting in NO HOT WATER!! It's not a matter of "if it will shut down" but rather "when it will shut down" if you don't flush it.
A tankless water heater has multiple pro's and con's that most folks are not aware of. Positives are; Yes, they do provide a reliable supply of endless hot water. Yes, they are more energy efficient. Yes, they take up less physical space in the building. Negatives are; they require more service including flushing with a descaling product using a flush kit usually done by a trained, Licensed Plumber. The water heater MUST have an Isolation kit installed on it to flush it. Repairs are done by a trained service person as the tankless water heater is a computerized device with specific circuitry that requires an experienced technician to troubleshoot and repair.
If you don't have an isolation kit on your tankless water heater, I can provide a quality, permanent lead free isolation kit for $99.00 plus tax and they are fairly easy to permanently install unless your water heater is "hard piped" which would require a more extensive installation process. I can rent you the flush kit with the pump for $25.00 if you want to flush it yourself to save money. The bottom line is this, it has to be flushed on a regular basis in order to keep heating water!!
