Raise your hand if you attended our Summer Solstice Event last Friday and had a great time!

We know we did. 🙂 A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and spent part of their day with us. We truly appreciate you taking the time to come out, and we hope it was time well spent.

From the prairie and nursery tours to the engaging presentations by Michelle Catania of the The Morton Arboretum and our president, Jack Pizzo, there was something for everyone to enjoy. And of course, we can’t forget our raffle winners, who went home with flats of our native plant plugs!

We’re so grateful for everyone who attended and helped make the day such a success. If you weren’t able to join us this year, we hope to see you at next year’s event.

Until then, thank you again, and we’ll see you soon!

Don't forget, today is the last day to grab your tickets for our Summer Solstice event on June 19th at our nursery in Leland, IL!

You can find all the details at the link below. We'll have tours, some educational talks, and plenty of time to hang out and enjoy the nursery together. 🙂

Even after spending so much time here, I still get excited walking through the nursery. Things are always changing, blooming, and surprising me! Every visit feels a little different, and that's one of my favorite things about it. 🌱

Come see it for yourself, we'd love to have you there!

The weather is warming up, schedules are filling up, and summer seems to be flying by! With our Summer Solstice event coming up next week, we've been keeping busy, and we have one more exciting stop before then. 🙂

Williams Bay friends, we'll be at the Farmers Market Friday from 8:00 AM–1:00 PM! Stop by Booth #17 to see our native plant plugs in person and take some home for your garden. Availability is limited, so swing by early! Can't make it tomorrow? We'll be at the Williams Bay Farmers Market every Friday throughout the season at Edgewater Park (East Geneva St, Williams Bay, WI 53191) from 8:00 AM–1:00 PM.

Available plants this week include:

• Sweet Grass (Hierochloe odorata)
• Blunt Mountain Mint (Pycnanthemum muticum)
• Big-Leaved Aster (Eurybia macrophylla)
• Buxbaum's Sedge (Carex buxbaumii)
• Pretty Sedge (Carex woodii)
• Ozark Bluestar (Amsonia illustris)

Just a heads-up: we won't be at the market next Friday because we'll be celebrating at our Summer Solstice event instead. We hope to see you there!

Here’s a little sneak peek of what’s to come on June 19th at our Summer Solstice event, held right here at our native plant nursery in Leland, IL!

Michelle Catania, Green Industry Outreach Coordinator for The Morton Arboretum, will be in the spotlight as she discusses Urban Soils & Soil Remediation.

For those who might be curious and not entirely sure what that entails, urban soils are simply soils found in developed areas like cities. This talk will explore how these soils are often altered or impacted by construction and human activity, and the ways we work to remediate and restore them so they can once again support healthy plant growth and thriving green spaces.

We hope to see you there! Link below. 🌱

Let’s take a trip to our version of Strawberry Fields!

Early summer is the perfect time to keep an eye out for wild strawberries (Fragaria virginiana), if the critters don’t get to them first. 😅

These native plants grow in a wide range of sun and soil conditions and spread easily as a fast-growing ground cover. The fruit is smaller than what you’ll find at the grocery store, but it’s packed with sweetness!

Not being able to fit anything else in our cars because they’re packed full of native plant plugs, that’s the only kind of problem we want to have!

Tomorrow, Friday, May 22, from 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM, we’ll be making our first appearance at the Williams Bay Farmers Market in Wisconsin at Booth #17! We’ll have a wide variety of native plant plugs available right from our nursery, from sedges to beautiful flowering species, ready for your gardens. 🙂

Be sure to stop by, say hello, and meet our Sales Representative Adrian Coppage and Business Development Manager Krystal Lee, who will both be there representing the team. We’re excited to be part of the community and can’t wait to connect with everyone!
