Warm afternoons, cool mornings. This is the month people fight their thermostat.

Pick a temperature and leave it there. Flipping between heat and cool all week makes the system short-cycle and wastes energy. Run the fan on Auto rather than On, and set a simple schedule to handle the swing for you.

Alabama Septembers stay sticky long after the worst heat breaks. If the house feels damp even at 72, your AC may not be running long enough to pull moisture out of the air. That's usually an airflow or sizing issue, and it's worth checking.
