Across the water. Through the woods. Down roads that barely qualify as roads.

Around here, getting to the job is sometimes half the adventure.

But whether we're crossing a lake, navigating the Maine wilderness, or working right in your backyard, one thing never changes: the dedication and craftsmanship our crew brings to every project.

39 degrees. Nearly 24 hours of rain. Mud everywhere. Yesterday it even snowed!

Not exactly ideal conditions for a day of concrete work.

But construction doesn't always come with blue skies, dry boots, and comfortable temperatures.

Today, our crew is out there alongside the teams from Mainely Concrete Pumping and Folsom Concrete, doing what needs to be done despite everything Mother Nature is throwing at them.

Cold hands. Wet clothes. Heavy equipment. Mud that seems determined to swallow anything with tires.

And still, the work moves forward.

Days like this are a reminder that the finished product is only part of the story. Behind every project are hardworking people willing to show up, work together, and push through conditions most people would rather avoid.

A huge thank you to our Loman crew, Mainely Concrete Pumping, and Folsom Concrete for the hard work, teamwork, and dedication today.

It's not glamorous. It's not comfortable. But it's the kind of work that deserves recognition.

What’s hiding behind your walls? A whole lot more than you think.

Before the drywall goes up and everything starts looking like a finished space, some of the most important work has already been done.

In construction, this stage is called the rough-in. It's when essential systems like plumbing, electrical, and HVAC are installed before insulation and drywall cover them up.

It may not be the prettiest part of a project, but getting it right is critical to everything that comes next.

Because in construction, some of the most important work is the work you'll never see.

Winter projects don't stop at the pavement. Neither do we.

In Maine, getting to the jobsite can be half the battle. Snowcovered roads, remote camps, and properties tucked deep in the woods don't always make access easy.

HGTV really skips over this part.

Before the beautiful kitchens, custom finishes and picture-perfect final reveal, there’s this.

Mud. Concrete. Early mornings. Questionable weather. And a crew standing in a trench wondering why anyone thought October in Maine was a good time to wear clean boots.

It may not be the glamorous part of building, but it’s the part that makes everything else possible.

Happy World Teachers’ Day

Every skilled trade starts with someone willing to teach.

From reading a tape and swinging a hammer to understanding why doing something right matters, the knowledge behind our industry is passed from one generation to the next.

Today we recognize the teachers in our classrooms, our communities, and on our jobsites who take the time to teach, encourage, and prepare the next generation.

Thank you to the educators who help build the people who will someday build our communities.

The one that says, “Oh great. She's here with the camera again.” 🤣

Were they actually looking at me? Probably not.... Am I going to assume that look was entirely about the camera? Absolutely. lol

Somewhere between actually building things and trying to avoid becoming content, the guys have learned there’s a pretty good chance they’re ending up on Facebook.

Sorry, guys. Someone has to document the hard work!!

And apparently hiding on the roof doesn’t work.

Disclaimer: No construction workers were annoyed in the making of this post. Probably.
